Nothing against Hale but for the sake of the clubs immediate future this is exactly what we need to happen. Ceglar to push Hale out, not for Hale to fall out himself.
Hale still played reasonably well in 2014 and during the finals. After missing out on a spot in the team for the Grand Final you'd almost expect Ceglar to improve again on his 2014 output and take that next step in his development. Either way though regardless of whether it's Hale or Ceglar, the competition for that second ruck spot will be a fight between those two and that puts us in a very good position in 2015.

Hale was very good for the last 4-6 rounds of H&A and carried it into the finals. I sensed he was cooked by GF day.

He was very average for the first two-thirds of the season and was given every opportunity to perform before eventually being dropped.

My guess is that McEvoy will be a lot better attuned to his role this year as No1 ruck and that it will be Hale trying to keep Ceglar from taking his role.

With Ceglar improving.. I have a feeling Hale could be the Brad Sewell of 2014 come the pointy end of the season.
I was thinking that but I though we might hold on to him another year for depth so Pittonet can get a couple preseasons under him.
