For Moore to get a starting spot R1 he would not only first need to get selected for JLT 2, he would need to kick 4+.

As much chance as your mate Benny Lennon ;)

Is there any word on George playing JLT 2?

I posted this in the JLT review thread. On the assumption Lynch and Caddy are available:

B: Vlastuin Rance Grimes
HB: Short Astbury Houli
C: Prestia Edwards Lambert
HF: Higgins Lynch Rioli
F: Butler Riewoldt Caddy
Fol: Nankervis Martin Cotchin
I/C Broad, Weller, Graham, Balta

emg: Markov, Ross, Baker
Flip Lynch and Jack. That's what the set up was in JLT1. Nank was Lynch.

Moore would effectively be playing Josh Caddy's position , Im thinking they will give Moore a run in JLT2 as he had a good game in the VFL practice game

Thinking Castagna will get a run for a half in the VFL this week in a practice match

If Lynch and Caddy both don't get up, then I'd bring in Moore and Graham

Looking more like Caddy and Grigg wont be ready for rnd 1 and I dont think Lynch will be either with the way things are going.

With That in mind rnd 1 team

Grimes - Astbury - Vlastuin
Houli - Rance - Broad

Ross - Cotchin - Lambert
Nankervis - Martin - Prestia

Rioli - Riewoldt - Edwards
Higgins - Balta - Moore

Markov - Graham - RC-D - possibly McIntosh or anyone who can go thru the middle and give us plenty of run and drive.

Sorry to intrude folks. Filtering through each club's best 22's, not just for round 1, and giving my thoughts as well.

Am following a bit of a trend that I've seen here where Rance is the 3rd tall and basically replacing Nathan Broad.

Feedback is appreciated.

FULL BACK: Grimes ~ Astbury ~ Vlastuin
HALF BACK: Short ~ Garthwaite/ Balta ~ Rance

WINGS: Prestia ~ Ellis
CENTRE: Martin

HALF FWD: Rioli ~ Lynch ~ Butler
FULL FWD: Higgins ~ Riewoldt ~ Caddy

RUCK: Nankervis
FOLLOWERS: Lambert ~ Cotchin

INTERCHANGE: Houli ~ Edwards ~ Castagna ~ Balta/ Graham

1ST STRING: (No particular order) Graham ~ Grigg ~ McIntosh Townsend (experience) ~ RCD ~ Bolton ~ Markov ~ Broad ~ Moore ~ Manedue ~ Naish ~ Soldo ~ Baker

2ND STRING: (No particular order) Weller ~ Ross ~ Turner ~ English ~ Aarts ~ CCJ ~ Chol ~ Smith ~ Miller

2nd stringers are basically new draftees, youthful talls yet to fill out and reach potential, and rookie listed players to invest time into along with. Weller can push his claims early for first string as a pressure forward.

1st stringers are guys who have had a taste for it but are behind more experienced players or on the other hand players like Grigg and McIntosh who get left aside as depth by lesser experienced but exciting youth.

From the Prelim 22 the big differences seem to be Balta, Lynch and possibly Garthwaite/ Soldo.

Inclusion of an extra tall down back does free Rance up a hell of a lot and allows him to play as a 3rd man up though with the 6-6-6 format that might not work as well.

Midfield would be the best 6 available obviously. Ellis has played his best footy as a wingman and compliments the more inside guys well.

The biggest structural change is the second tall forward. I can't think of a regular tall forward duo since Richo and Riewoldt. Guys like Hampson, Griffiths and Vickery were tried and tested but never settled through injuries and or form

Have at it folks.

Not a horrible effort.

Broad plays R1 barring the extraordinary. Not a massive fan and think he can/should be upgraded ASAP, but the man has a massive work ethic and plays an important role down back. Clocks up more k's than a lot of mids.
Yeah I'm not a fan either. He makes a lot of mistakes, disposal and decision making is not up to scratch. Hoping he either improves or someone like Markov takes his spot, although slightly different roles.

Looks like Caddy and Lynch definitely out for round one now.

I would be going with Nank, Balta, Moore combo. Interested to see if Moore gets a run in JLT2

Markov is a fringe player.
TBH, Bolton, Chol, Menadue are doubtful too.
Baker, CCJ, RCD, Weller are better.
