Only one person had Newnes in their team, yet he played every game this year. He has now played a total of 135 games, including every game in 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017. He should now be one of our shining lights, but for whatever reason (we will probably never find out) he has gone backwards.
As one of our most experienced players, if we are going to be a successful team, he needs to be setting a standard for others to follow. He has been a source of frustration for many........myself included.
Hope he can have a strong preseason and get himself back into form and help make this club relevant again

If he can get himself back to the player he should be then he slots in (if he's still here next year). Another year of him getting gifted games would be a sure sign that nothing will have changed.

Newnes and Mav are kinda the avatars for Richo in the team (and my captain and co-captain picks in late 2016!). They are the on-field representation of all of Richo's perceived flaws, hence they get tonnes of stick.

Another year of him getting gifted games would be a sure sign that nothing will have changed.

The fact that only one person picked Newnes in their team is a good indication that supporters felt like he was being gifted games, myself included.
IMO smacked of desperation and did nothing for selection integrity.

Jade Gresham better wear out 15 pairs of shoes this pre-season. If he does, start him on a flank but inject him into the midfield frequently. Let him play 50/50, forward and center square.

Gresham could become anything. He has genuine star power. Strong through the body, wants to take the game on, proven goal kicker, great sidestep, superb vision.

He just needs a tank.
