I think fit Sylvia is surely in your starting 18. He hasn't had a pre season since he has been there and this time last year in the NAB or possibly the year before i saw melbourne posters saying gee Sylvia looks to be a little better than Mclean. Standout year by Mclean and more Sylvia injuries and some of you had him on the bench and not in the side at all. Cmon, this guy is hard as nails and knows where the goals are. He took a huge mark against the kangas last year. I think he has such an incredible upside and hope he has an injury free year.
Also think Ward should be in the best side as well.

Ward is not in the best 18. Depth player at best.

Slander is right on Sylvia, in the rehab group and I don't expect much from him this year like Moloney last season.

he showed last year that he is in the best 18 and i find it interesting that you seem to have that opinion, he isn't the biggest name at the club but his form warrants selection

My best 22 for Melbourne is:

B: Clint Bartram - Nathan Carroll - Matthew Whelan
HB: Byron Pickett - Jared Rivers - Nathan Brown
C: Brad Green - James McDonald - Travis Johnstone
HF: Adem Yze - Brad Miller - Matthew Bate
F: Russell Robertson - David Neitz - Aaron Davey
R: Jeff White - Cameron Bruce - Brock McLean
I/C: Mark Jamar - Nathan Jones - Brent Moloney - Colin Slyvia
Em: Simon Godfrey - Ben Holland - Daniel Ward

Melbourne I believe has one of the best midfielders in the competition but where they lack is the spine. I'm not sure if Brad Miller will be good CHF I think Lynden Dunn is a better long term option but Miller gets a start first because of experience. I put Pickett on the half-back flank because they can use his toughness there and use him as a battering ram and he can create so many opportunities up forward. I think 5th to 8th for Melbourne is a realistic prediction for me but I wouldn't be surprised if they make the top 4. It's their last chance to win a premiership while David Neitz is still around.

I think how certain players perform in the Wizard Cup will decide who makes the cut for round 1, but I can see the team being something like this:

B: Whelan, Carroll, Ferguson/Warnock/Holland
HB: Bartram, Rivers, Bell/C.Johnson
C: Green, McDonald, Johnstone
HF: Robertson, Miller, Pickett
F: Davey, Neitz, Yze
R: White, McLean, Bruce
INT: Moloney, Dunn, Bate, PJ/Jamar

EMG: Players who missed out + Ward, Buckley

Not Considered: Bizzell, Godfrey, Wheatley

INJ: Sylvia

(Edit) Forgot about Jones and I have to find a spot for him, not sure who I would drop right now.
