To be clear, I don't think any team can sniff a premiership without minimum 8/10 units across the board.

But I agree I might have been overly generous.

Fair IMO.

Just take a look at the backline and unless you want to rate on "potential" it's something like this:

• Logue - Very good 7-8 out of 10 but now durability concerns as of today
• Corr - Solild when fit and decent support 6-7
• Archer - Great "rookie" year. Proven nothing long term. 5/10
• Goater - Nothing but potential as of today due to injury / age 1/10
• Comben - Lot of potential, durability concerns, not finished product and may be at the other end in 5 months 4/10
• Hardeman - Who? 1/10 as of today

Add that up and that backline is a 26/60 rating as of today. Which is probably fair, even though there are plenty of good bits to work with.

Now that the s***show that was season 2024 is officially over, it might be time to think about who we have, who we need and where they fit.

I realise there is a List Management thread but I'd like to look at positions only, for next year.

Not too many players pick themselves, or at least are solid enough in their preferred or usual positions but let's start with that. This assumes full recovery from any current injury and a more or less full pre-season.

As a supporter I will continue to support and attend games of the NMFC but iv finally realised no point calling for McDonald to be replaced as Captain and as player at our club as his protected by his Dad who has his mates at the club to protect him as well.
Just hope other supporters of our club realise this too the Administration and Coaching Staff don’t give a Fu:k about the supporters.

Obviously depends on the draft but I'd agree likely no first year players at all and to be frank that would be a massive, massive win over the last few seasons where we've been so talent starved with so many delistings that we've been playing multiple first year players even when being quite conservative at selection. If we can roll out Round 1 with zero first year / maybe one lightning small that smashes pre season games we will be in such a better position compared to the last few years.

Have faith. Being finally in a position where we might not be desperate to get a draftee into the team for round 1 is a very different proposition. I think things will change now and change quicker than many anticipate.
