I'd like to hear a coherent argument for Mainwaring. Judd was the best player in the comp for three years.

You're probably right, but Judd's betrayal makes it hard to give him the accolade over someone like Mainwaring. I'm assuming we are going on more than simply the 'best' player in for a given number, but rather their worth to the club. Or something.

Well, is the poll about the best player or your favourite player?

Judd's worth to our club, during his time in the #3 guernsey, still outstripped Mainwaring's.

There's just no way you can honestly avoid voting for Judd in this poll.

He was the man for too long. And then he shafted us. But he was still incredible while at WC.

Judd was in the top four players that have played for our Club. IMO ( Matera, Judd , Jackovich, & Cousins ) . Sensational player and at the top of his game when he played for us. Gave us all a lot of joy.

The poll said best #3, I then assume what makes for the "best #3" is up to me to decide. I value loyalty.

Players such as Braun and Wirrapanda have a higher standing in my opinion of them as players as they remained loyal to the club. Just two examples who had just as many, if not more reasons to go home to family than Judd did. They stayed.

As for liking Mainwaring more, I never knew the guy.

Mainy for me.....He was blue and gold through and through and im sure he still is in his grave today......As for Juddass well he was great but then betrayed us so he deserves no votes from me.

Judd for mine.

Mainwaring was my favourite player growing up. Judd was my favourite as he inherited the #3.

Mainy played his guts out for the club, but it's a bit like comparing Michael Braun to Judd. We know who's better, don't we?

Mainy having passed on should not cloud our judgement here, and neither should Judd leaving us for a filthy, dirt eating, greased up, underhanded, despicable, soulless club, just because his girlfriend wanted better career prospects and so his mum could sing him to bed each night.
