I agree - Pav is great but not in the top 6 so far this year. I'm not so sure McLeod deserves to be there either.

Reading this thread it's easy to see why the WA media often say Pav is not appreciated by Victorians. Pav would be a lock ofr top 6 and along with Ablett, Judd and Bartel, the only certainties for AA at this point.

watch the cats v melbourne game last year. he was the only reason we came back from 40 points down.

I know 'favortism' for the brownlow doesn't count for much this early in the piece, but to seemingly be a contender or one of the favourites for it, then he obviously must be doing something right this season. He has played some blinders where the game was there to be taken. He has definitely been our clubs standout player thus far.

Richmond are full of front runners it is just very unfortunate they cant get to the front.

I reckon Pavlich is having a good season, just doesn't look as good because the team isn't performing. Bartel is the pick of the Geelong players i reckon, but Gary isn't to far behind.

Nah mate it's just people are starting to see just how good Ablett is. The reason hes been so good this year is because he is playing primarily on ball, and not the small forward role. And he has probably been just about best on ground in 8 of our last 12 matches. so its not like he isn't consistant. And how is he a front runner when he's been one of the standouts in a couple of our defeats this year.

G. Ablett Jnr. is definately not a front runner. In my opinion he should be the next captain of the Cats. If you want a true front runner look no further than Des Headland.

Yeah of course, being in the top 10 contested possessions (was 8th before last game, would imagine he is higher now) in the competition makes you a front runner doesn't it.

im not suggesting he isnt a gun player, but top 6 in the league take your hand off it. all the geelong boys look great when theyre winning, and average when they are losing. that is not a great player, that is a down-hill skiier!

Never said G. Ablett was a front runner. Im just amazed he is at number 2. Personally I dont think he is currently the 2nd best player this year. But then again is basically impossible to construct a top 6.

He has had a top season regardless.

Pav has probably been playing the best of the key forwards, but a combonation of shithouse delivery + a couple of bad games means Pav is certainly not in career best form. Anyone who thinks he is in career best form this season hasn't watched much of him.

Gary Ablett is very good, but if his name was Gary Jones and his father was not an absolute legend he would not be in top 10.
The Age posted his stats the other day from last 5 games. 2 of them were very good, the other 3 would be average games for Judd.
