Norwood:

F: Luke Jericho ~ Taylor Walker ~ Anthony Wilson
HF: Steven Rowe ~ Matthew Robran ~ Lewis Johnstone
C: James Gallagher ~ James Thiessen ~ Andrew Eccles
HB: Luke Brown ~ Rodney Maynard ~ Matthew Kelly
FB: Nathan Bassett ~ Johnathon Ross ~ Kriss Massie

Ruck: David Pittman ~ Brett James ~ Andrew Jarman

Interchange: John Meesen ~ Eugene Warrior ~ Mitch Grigg

Not a bad squad

Righto folks - here's a bit of a different idea I don't think I've seen before (I give it 15 minutes for someone to prove me wrong).

Make the best squad you can of AFC listed players for your favourite SANFL side.

A player that has been listed for the AFC and played at least one game for an SANFL side counts.

My team growing up was the Bloods. Here is a very quick effort off the top of my head (appreciate any input from others!)

B: Rory Laird | Ben Rutten | Tyson Edwards
HB: Chris Schmidt | Paul Patterson | Andrew Crowell
C: Grantley Fielke | Mark Ricciuto | Matthew Connell
HF: Bruce Lindner | Kurt Tippett | Scott Welsh
FF: Jason Porplyzia | Tony Modra | Eddie Hocking
R: Shaun Rehn | Patrick Dangerfield | Brad Crouch
Interchange: Adam Richardson | Mark Mickan | Clayton Lamb | Brent Williams

Beat that side...

Rehn, roo, danger and crouch at a centre bounce. If only...

Sturt:

FB: J Begley M Mattner B Sanderson
HB: R Atkins P Caven R Tambling
C: B Reilly B Atkinson M Jaensch
HF: B Nelson I Perrie S Kerridge
FF: J Jenkins B Stanfield T McIntyre
1R: A Graham A Riley B Martin
INT: M Powell J Hinge L Stevens J Battersby

May god have mercy on our soul
Fair to say that we've contributed absolutely nothing to the AFC

B. S Tasker R Jameson R Thompson
H.B M Viska P Rouvray E Warrior
C. D Marshall C McDermott K Johnson
H.F M Liptak A Bartlett T Lynch
F. R Douglas J Sellar M Bode
R. M Golding T Mcguiness K Koster
Int. Hinge, J Byrne, J Lyons L Picioane

Includes a couple of players who joined Glenelg post AFL and also mini draft players like Douglas and Johnson.

Port Adelaide:

B: Graham Johncock / Daryl Wakelin / Danny Hughes
HB: Trent Ormond-Allen / Scott Stevens / Bruce Abernathy
C: Greg Anderson / Scott Thompson / Simon Tregenza
HF: David Brown / Darren Smith / Brian Beinke
FF: Brett Chalmers / Scott Hodges / Troy Bond
R: Ivan Maric / Andrew McLeod / Tyson Stenglien
Int: Ronnie Burns / Ricky O'laughlin / Eugene Warrior / Simon Pedler

Emer: Brett Higgins / Tim Milera / Keenan Ramsey / Tom Gilligan

My thoughts:
Far and away a sensational midfield. Forward line and defence not too shabby either.

Pfeiffer as your 4th bench

Pfeiffer played early football for Norwood in the SANFL under 19s,[1] before being drafted by the Adelaide Football Club in the 2005 AFL National Draft with its first round selection (No. 17 overall). After suffering injury setbacks and, by his own admission, a lack of application,[2] he was delisted at the end of 2007 without playing a senior game

I should have added a ;) or something as I was just joking.

I was very keen on Darren Pfeiffer when we drafted him before Dicky Douglas.

South:

FB: A Otten K Hartigan J Torney

C: M Doughty D Mackay K Koster
HF: C Samspson I Perrie M Cook
FF: P McIntyre S McKernan S Ellen

Ryan Fitzgerald, Randall Bone

Coach: G Cornes or G Anderson

and I reckon Dangerfield may have played a reserves game one week when West had a bye :D

Randall Bone has to at least be on the Interchange....I'd have him FF in front of McKernan personally

The mighty Roosters have actually given us a few absolute gems.

FB: B. Hart P. Davis S.Tasker
HB: J. Mail S. Wellman M. Collins
C: T. Cook A. Jarman B. Atkinson
HF: C. Ladhams W. Carey N. Gill
FF: D. Hart L. Johnston M. Wright
Ruck: B. Hudson D. Jarman A. Saliba

It has its weaknesses, but I'd still love to see this side in action :)

Note also that Adam Saliba is hands down the most talented player never to make it. Damn he was good.

I think the squads in order from best to worst are I am only talking minor differences but

West
Port
Eagles
Norwood
South
Sturt
North
Wait. What? If you honestly think that Sturt side is better than North's, then you are dreaming. North's bottom six may be garbage but their top six are absolutely top drawer :)

Was a few years ahead of him at school, lets just say he was fond of the local herbs

I said minor differences. Some awesome star power in Norths side but Sturt may just have the edge in overall team ability. The Jarman boys are a hard act to beat though.

Every AFL / SANFL coach will be able to name you players that had all the talent in the world and should have been stars but simply didn't have the drive to succeed. Some players simply can't handle the demands of training and Graham was a renowned strict coach.

Saw this thread earlier and wanted to do the Port team when I got home, pretty much nailed it.

Although I don't think Eugene Warrior played a game for us.

Reckon this side would beat a side of Port Power players who played for the Magpies.
