McCrae has reconstituted the game plan twice in a few years. If he gets the flag in 2025, he goes down as a real coaching great. Adjusting his methods on the fly (I'll take that), evolving quickly, recruiting with vision, not accepting a pessimistic outlook from outside, always seeking creative improvements.
Pies are close to unplayable at times. They will hit some hard times later this year, it's inevitable, but McCrae has raised the bar for all coaches to innovate faster and aggressively.
At the same time the finger can be pointed at some other coaches struggling with staid game plans. They need to take a serious look at McCrae.
