Best commentators

I thought Anthony Hudson and Stephen Quatermain did a great job on Saturday. Throw in Tim Lane and Robert Walls and Channel Ten clearly has the best commentary team.

Dennis Commetti and Garry Lyon are the only ones worth listening to on Nine.

My favourite commentary trio would be Cometti, McAvaney and Hudson.

dwayne russell is a rising star in the commentary world.

quartermaine is useless, as is lyon.

although cometti is very good, he kinda rates himself too highly these days....

louie richards was the best - the voice of football.

YOur right though- Hudson, COmeti and Bruce would be awesome. Cometi could chime in, similar to expert comments, whenever he came up with one of his gems. Watching old grand finals this week, Bruce was really let down by his co-commentators like Drew Morphett, who is bloody awful. ANd Sandy ROberts- I hate the way he trills certain letters

BT is absolutely hilarious on the radio aswell, he cracks me up sometimew like in the granny while describing Shaws clanger he said ' Ohh, no Shaw tried to sell some candy, and was unsuccesfull, as Lynch picked it up and shoved it right back up shaw.

channel nine in general is a pretty poor commentary team. cometti started alright, but now i reckon he tries for his jokes too much.

Ed is brillant, Daics is great, Chrisso is good and Christy is magnificant. BT is not to bad either!

Bruce and Dennis, no one else compares.

as for quartermain, he knows his stuff but it was pretty blatantly obvious he was going for collingwood during the GF.

Bruce gushes a little bit too much with footy. He is, however, the Olympic caller par excellence.

Commetti and Hudson are very professional with great voices. Of the past players, BT brings a certain old fashioned TV Ringside feel to the call.

Pathetic bar Cometti!!!

Quartermaine - learn to stop screaming your head off.
Hudson - boring, bit too smug at times needs support from around him.
Grybas - is fair but pretty bias to interstate sides (may not be a bad thing) very sarcastic, can hold his own.
Rex Hunt - Comical and knows how to build it up as the match pace quickens and the knack of mixing seriousness and comedy.
Walls - turncoat, make an opinion and stick to it.
Dac's, SOS and M.Christian - work well as a team.
Bruce - far and away the best commentator on TV.
Eddie - re Quartermaine, obviously loves the game.
BT - like him, much in the mold of Rex Hunt with the ability to mix seriousness and comic relief.
Healy - re Walls
Russell - isn't scared to state his opinion, calling is fair.
Tim Lane - hard to rid the ABC out of him, calls pretty good.
Wallace - hmmmm not bad but loves to bring himself into it too much.
Dermie - listening to him makes me think that you need a PhD in football.
Tony Shaw - still don't know what to think of him?
Billy - can't take him seriously a la Hawkins
Sam - starting to wear thin and IMO really isn't suited to the TripleM team - may work on TV but radio a bit different.

I'll never forget Commeti's 92 gf call ( like a cork in the ocean) he is the best imo Quaters isn't far off though and i might get flamed for this but i rank Walls up there 2.

Cannot stand Quartermain and Russell, and i think DC is overrated.
