What is hte best concert youve ever seen???

My all time favourite - that will never ever be beat was The Prodigys concert in 1998 at Theberton Theatre.

Just simply the most energetic, amazing life changing concert ive ever seen. I was literally deaf for a week because of that concert.
3 hours of Prodigy euphoria.
I can still remember it like it was last night!!!
They started with 'Smack My Bitch Up' which went off...then played voodoo people which was when Leeroy came out and set the crowd alight. 'Their Law' was next which got the crowd moshing in a frenzy. They went thru a large number of their songs...3 hours worth in fact of their songs, simple dance tunes and awesome techno ****. I could go on more about it but this post would be 40 pages long!

I will never forget that concert!!!

Honourable mention to Slipknot 2000, Pantera 2001, Mudvayne 2001, Korn 99, NIN 2000

I must list three.

1. Dead Kennedy's at Thebarton Theatre in 1984.
2. ACDC at Memorial Drive (not sure of the year) with Bon Scott
3. Midnight Oil at the Arkaba in 1979.

I'm showing my vintage here, but I did sneak in to these shows as a youngster.
Other notable mentions:
D.R.I. in LA 1988 (completely nuts, they did a 40 song set)
Helmet in LA 1994
Bad Brains NY 1988
7 Seconds LA 1987
Nirvana 1993?
Where's The Pope? all their shows rocked.

Damn u... getting to see DK *jealous*.

Rammstein - BDO 2001
Pink Floyd - Thebby Oval 1988
INXS - Memorial Drive 1988
Oils - Memorial Drive 1990
Kiss - 1997
Rose Tattoo - Support act to ZZ Top in '87 and ended up topping them.
TISM - Any of their shows.
Skulker - Bablyon 2000 (met Batti afterwards.. ooh yeah!)

Haven't been to a concert yet. Waiting for U2 or Pearl Jam to tour.

If they get some decent bands at the BDO, I'll go, and I just missed out on Tool tickets...so I was spewing.

Best concert to date is my double CD of PJ playing live in concert

:(

The Hitman

Geez, Going to show some age here but the best concerts I've been to are:

1. Thin Lizzy at Thebarton Theatre. The most underated rock band of all time. Fairly ordinary in a studio but awsome live.

2. Cold Chisel. Saw them a few time but the best concert was also at Thebarton Theatre. Jimmy Barnes in top form polished off a bottle of vodka, put his fist through the roof and was magnificent. Also a highlight of that show was someone threw up on the floor before the concert started and a huge roar went up whenever someone stepped in it.

3. U2. Saw the 'When Love Came to Town' Concert and the 'Zoo TV' concert'. The best Live band ever. Bono really gets the crowd involved. The first show also had BB King who I would have paid anything to go and see by himself.

4. ACDC. Also known as the Angus Young show.

5. Phil Collins. Just very entertaining.

6. The Coors. I didn't want to go but they blew me away with genuine talent.

7. Vince Jones. Not really a concert but if you want to get off your face while listening to some sensational jazz, go see Vince Jones.

Honourable mention to Tina Turner. Anyone who thinks those putana's who strut around stage with their **** hanging out are in any way sexy should go and see Tina Turner. She is hot.

Ozzy Osbourne @ Festival Hall 1998, awesome show. Zakk Wylde is one motherf**ker on guitar too!

Alice Cooper Brutal Planet 2001 @ Melbourne Park. The guy still has it, some of the most underrated evil riffs of all time.

Spogs: wish I was able to say I saw a Thin Lizzy concert, they were truly an awesome band. They just put an awesome patent on harmony parts, ever song had at least one guitar harmony!

Gorman & Moore were great guitarist & Phil Lynott was an awesome figure...shame about what happened.

Matchbox Twenty at Melbourne Park last november was the best show I've seen.
Other good ones -Jimmy Barnes /Diesel at the PALAIS [StKilda] on the Soul Deep Tour
Wedding Parties Anything at the Lyric [Geelong] on their farewell tour.
Jimmy Barnes at the Arena [Geelong]
John Farnham at the Arena
& Jimmy Barnes at BAROOGA sports club

Myself, I was always more into "gigs" than "concerts" - but anyway:

1. The The, live at Shepherd's Bush in the UK - I already mentioned this in another thread, and gave a link to photos from that concert.

2. The Balanescu Quartet, here for the Adelaide Festival of arts a couple of years ago. This was in the small jazz-bar area in the Festival Centre, and the atmosphere was amazing. A nuclear bomb could have exploded outside and nobody would have noticed; the act was completely absorbing.

3. Depeche Mode at the Thebby for the Songs of Faith and Devotion tour. Their dark synth style at the time was absolutely perfect for a hall like the Thebby; the bass reverberated off the walls and echoed through the room, stapling one's ribcage deep within one's thorax. Superb feeling.

Here's mine in no particular order:

Rose Tattoo with The Angels on "All Hell Breaks Loose" tour at The Palace in '98, awesome gig. Two of Australia's finest.

The Rolling Stones at the MCG '95.

AC/DC at Melbourne Park this year.

Russell Morris at Broadford '88.

Buddy Guy at The Old Greek Theatre in Richmond '91. The master of the blues, a brilliant guitarist.

Chris Wilson, Ian Collard (local blues legends, two awesome harp players) and Chickenhead at The Clifton Hill Hotel '98.

Matt Taylor and Chain at Broadford '87.

Lobby Lloyd at The Prince of Wales '98. Very, very loud gig, could feel the floorboards rumbling and my chest pounding.

Motorhead at Festival Hall '85. The loudest band on the planet.

Iron Maiden at Festival Hall '85.

Cold Chisel, Melbourne Park '98.

Fu Manchu at The Corner Hotel, 2000.

where's wally?

Savatage,

Spot on about the guitar harmonies of Gorham and Moore. I loved Snowy White but Lizzy lost something when Moore left.

TheStretch,

You mongrel. I would give my left testicle to see either Neil Young or Bob Dylan. I kept missing both of them whenever they hit Adelaide and that will piss me off forever.

Don't ask for dates or even years.
Iggy Pop at the Palace(shocking place) and another time at Festering Hall.

Rollins at the Venue in St K. The Bass made the floor shake. You kiddies who think that M&M is a little bit naughty with his coporate shock tactics should check out Black Flag or Rollins' solo stuff.

The Ramones-lots of places

Motorhead-Festering Hall

X/Cosmic Psychos/I Spit in Your Gravy/Painters and Dockers/Celibate Rifles/Hard Ons were all great local bands

But the best live act I've seen

Birthday Party/Nick Cave--over the years all sorts of places.

Yes I am an ageing old punk.
