People laugh when I say this but Thiessen is still one of the best shots for goal on the run I have seen at AFL and SANFL level. Maybe not so much from a set shot but he was so reliable on the run.

Gary Ayers killed his career, tried to turn him into a back pocket player.

Ryan Fitzgerald pre knee.

Laurence Angwin but for the issues.

Always wonder what would have come of Fergus Watts if no for pursuing one of the all time dumb trades.

Dodge is part of a gigantic list of players that were world beaters at sanfl VFL level but couldn’t quite make it. I remember having a beer with him after the 99 gf and I’m pretty sure he knew his career was done and was happy enough playing for Norwood.

I still remember him with the long hair carving up port at the parade one arvo. Reckon he kicked 7 or 8 off a flank.

Ian Callinan was another one, though he did have a pretty good 2012 season.

Lack of height and speed was his issue, but his skillset was incredible.

He made a fairly solid AFL contribution. Was great in the 98 Grand Final. We had alot of similar types at the time and the tradional wingman type role was also changing.

He was a good a player and like I said did not miss on the run.

This is actually a great call.

Porps, Knights, Vince, Otten and Tippett all fired and had career best seasons in '09 and never replicated them. Heck, even Mackay looked like he was going to be a great player but then had a 200-game career based off of it.

Porps, Knights and Otten were cruelled by injuries, Tippett kicked 50+ goals and only kicked 40+ goals in a season twice more, and Vince never re-captured his B&F season.
Chris Knights was lethal in 2009. If he was within 60m he was either having a ping and most likely goaling it, or hitting up a forward lace out.

Really looked like he was going to be a force for years to come. Never really got another good look at it post-2009. Was sad to see him go to Richmond but I understood wanting a fresh start even if it didn't come off for him.

Barry Standfield?

Not sure what happened but as a kid I saw him kicking goals, really liked him. Then gone. How do you kick 23 goals in 13 games then vanish?

They say it’s because he showed the ball, and that probably was a key reason.

Legend has it that was his last game, but it couldn’t have been. He was actually goalless in his final game.

Richard Tambling? Was it head space?

Nick Gill? 44 shots on goal in 17 games ain't bad. But less than 50% accuracy.

Tony Hall, best elsewhere?

Luke Thompson, injuries?

Tony Modra obviously made it, but could have been sooooo much more
