Which out of these fellas who have strutted their stuff already do you believe will be the most dominating ruckman in years to come

I was debating who to vote for out of Hamish McIntosh and Will Minson, and decided to vote for Minson as he's got a better midfield to ruck to, which will make him more dominant than McIntosh IMO.

There different ages mainly all of them. I think Cam wood could be very good but Leuenberger will probably end up sharing ruck duties. Ryder had a quite first year but is still a very good talent who i'am very have we picked up. Will be a Ruckmen who plays forward.

For Geelong Mark Blake would be a great tap ruckman but crap around the ground. But look out for Trent West. He packed on 10 kilos over the season and is not only good at ruckwork but also quite mobile.
I voted for Minson coz he can ruck and is good around the ground.
Hard to tell with ruckman at an early age as they usually take a while to develop.

Gee, there really isn't anyone that good on that list. I think we'll see some much better ruck talent develop over the next year or so. Leunberger will obviously be good, but Hughes may have delieved a masterstroke, by recruiting Hampson - a 200+cm ruck, with extreme raw talent and natural athletic abilities, although requiring a little more development that the others. He'll probably end up being the best ruck from the 2006 draft. Also watch out for Aisake - Setanta's brother, who will begin having an impact over the next few years. These are the next generation rucks, who'll make Cox look as slow as Laycock. :)

If your talking about the upside of a ruckman in terms of their physcial attributes, none in the league can go past Moran.

Moran > Hampson

Also, if you have McIntosh in that list, you should also have Hale, as they are the same age.

I only chose players who have debuted, i like Hampson though....Hale will play forward in 07 as Laidley said he will.

Hale will ruck for the majority of the year, he isnt good enough at CHF to hold it down, inevitably Thompson will move to CHF and Edwards will slot into FF.

Why isnt Moran on the list?

So you think Hampson will be better then Leuenberger? Big call!

On the list given I'll go with Cam Wood..Wood & Leuenberger will be the premier ruck combo in a few years.

It's parrot. If Carlton got Luey, he'd be saying not only would he be the best ruckman in the draft, but clearly the best player.

He'd then say Hampson was a joke.

Cameron Wood and Matthew Leunberger

Add Charman and thats the best ruck trio in the comp

Age cut off should be about 23/24.

That is when ruckman usually start having a significant influence on a game.

Aisake, who? You have to remind me how many good games that Setanta or his brother has played because I can't remember him playing many good ones.

I gather from your statement about the "next generation rucks" that you wouldn't trade either Setanta for Cox?

Moran has only played the game for 5 years or so yet is already showing great promise. He's a hopeful worth following.

Chose Minson, only 21 and is showing that he'll be a great player. Most of the others are too young or haven't shown enough.

.. you wouldn't trade either Setanta for Cox?

Correct. Setanta has super-star potential, why would we want to trade someone like that? BTW Setanta is not a ruckman, but it sounds like you don't get to watch much footy. Hampson, Aisake and Jacobs are our developing ruck talent. Impressive. :)

Impressive? Not really but then again you do follow the 16th best team, don't you.:D

If you reckon Setanta has super-star potential then you don't sound like you watch too much footy.:)
