Best ever Australian World Cup side?

Was gonna mention Bracken yesterday. There's a blast from the past.

99 and 03 are the sentimental favourites for me, but I think the fact the bulk of the games were in the horrendous Windies timeslot means a lot of supporters forget just how above and beyond everyone else that 2007 side was. McGrath and Bracken, Tait coming in with the older ball and being basically unplayable.

Just preemptively proving my own point

No it doesn't.

I could turn the 2003 team having some close games to prove my point as well by saying at least we know when they were tested they were too good. They didn't rely on the same players to win every game so we know they were a very well balanced team that performed under pressure.

Anyone could say the 2007 team having bigger wins says more about the other teams than it does about them.

If India and Pakistan got out of the group stage we might have had better data but they didn't.

2007 bowling attack is my favourite. Great variety with 150km slinger in Tait, middle pace left arm swing of Bracken and Australia's greatest one day bowler coming on first change. Supported by world class odi wrist spinner in Hogg. Symonds/Watson as fifth bowler.

2015 - Starc to McCullum was glorious

99’ - the klusener Donald debacle, I actually adored both of them, but I also loved it

2003 - pre tournament squad turmoil, but we were unbeatable, and India were not that great.

2007 - eh, D/L

2023 - genuine underdogs in the final and smashed them.

‘23 or ‘99 for me. Most satisfying
