Has to be 89. Not because we won by 80. But because they'd beaten us by 60 two weeks before it.

Can't really say the '11 and '16 QF's as those games don't count.

Don't know if it got out to 5 goals but the 1992 QF we were down by a few goals in the first half but came back to win by 60 with Ablett kicking 5 and Brownless 9.

This was the best moment of that game2009 QF v Bulldogs pretty cool.
They beat Collingwood in the final round (from memory) which meant they got the 'prize' of finishing 3rd and playing us in the QF, rather than finishing 4th and facing the Saints.
The Dogs players celebrated after that game and I reckon our boys took it as an insult.
Our late season form in 2009 wasn't great but we flicked that switch and absolutely blew them away with 15-20 minutes of incredible football to lead by 28 points at quarter time and we weren't seriously challenged after that.
88-72 at half time, full time score was 172 to 111.Half way through second quarter, we were down 68-34. We went in 16 pts down (88-72) at half time but the general feeling was that we would win.
Agree 2011 qf up thereFor me, Pre-lim wins are always a little weird. There is only a sense of relief, which soon gets buried under multiple layers of nerves.
I voted the 2011 QF, it was great to get one back on the Hawks, and from that game I was incredibly confident we'd win the flag.
Loved the 2004 Semi Final against Essendon. Ablett and Bartel were outstanding.
2009 QF a touch underrated. We were struggling towards the end of the season, limping in to the point the Bulldogs went into that game favourite. In a game in which our Midfield (besides Ablett) never really got going, Scarlett, Enright, Milburn and Taylor were outstanding in defence and on the rebound to set up the win.
The 2016 QF will probably end up on top if we win this flag though.
Was at that too. Thing was 5 goals down but not too perturbed'92 QF vs Bulldogs?
Was at that game, after a slow start we turned it around big time; Stoneham was excellent in the ruck; Brownless amongst the goals with a bag, and, from memory, Ablett back from a couple weeks off with a hammy and just kicked 5 classy goals, left foot outside 50, the usual party tricks ..

Also I think people forget how favoured Nth was to win that game, they'd had a week off and had Carey at his peak - a brilliant performance by the boys and Blight, Riccardi got the shaking of a lifetime at quarter time.I would say the 1994 prelim just from a re-watchability. It is just a classic game from start to finish.
I like how you even added the reason it's my favourite - half of the filth's straight sets exit!
07 Prelim for mine.
Never heard a louder crowd.
Never been so nervous in the final quarter.
Never been so excited with a win (outside of a GF).
Never felt more sick watching. Though QF 2016 closeI only marked it down slightly as I've never, ever felt like it after a game. No elation, no excitement, just utter relief.

Yes. As a fan feel far.more liberated now that the Most Awful have been eliminatedI was exactly the same.
The thought of living down a Hawthorn finals 'miracle' was unbearable.
