Just wondering what people thoughts are on the best five horses going around in Australia at the moment?

Mine are below in no particular order:

All Silent
You could have scenic blast, wanted or apache cat, but on his day I think All Silent is the best. His run on the last day of the carnival was mind blowing.

Typhoon Tracy
Has matured into a top quality mare and last three wins have been Group Ones. If she wins the Doncaster she’ll be one of the best going around in Australia

Whobegotyou
Frustrating horse which is capable of being a champion, perhaps gets to far back and finds trouble to often or is done by the pace of the race. Think you’ll see a better horse as a five year old. Maybe here on potential.

Efficient
Always been a fan of Efficient and you could see as a three year old he had huge potential. Has excellent acceleration and is capable of good performance at any distance. Think you’ll see him win one or two group ones in the spring.

Starspangledbanner
Had to put a three year old in because I reckon the current crop are very nice but think Starspangled edges out Denman and So you think. Great sprinter/miler and right up there this prep with the older horses.

Since when was Efficient competitive over sprint distances?

hasnt been tested over the true sprint distances, but his efforts over 1400m have been competitive. last prep he flew home over 1400m first up to come only a couple of lengths behind MicMac, Whobe

Remember I did say capable of good performances and think if he was prepared for a sprint he would come home strong and be competitive.

Blacks a Fake

Typhoon Tracy

Shoot Out (best 3yo I've seen in a while)

Melpark Major

Sirmione (always consistent, huge chance for the BMW if he runs and basically won the Australian Cup).

I left out Whobegotyou because he is weak under pressure, Efficient because he is a 2400m + horse only now, and others because I just don't think they deserve a "gig".

(Probably forget someone, but oh well).:)

Mine are below.

Denman - Love the horse, has failed in two races (grand finals) but has had excuses, distance and end of long campaign

Typhoon Tracey - Champion mare. End of story

All Silent - Great sprinter, only just noses out Nicconi for this title

Theseo - Great horse, had a long layoff but showed what it was capable off by beating Rangirandoo on it's first gig back. Extra distance will only suit and should have a good Autumn.

Whobegotyou - Not sold but it's record is pretty damn impressive

By the end of the Brisbane winter carnival Graceful Anna may well be worthy of inclusion on a list like this.
Has won five out of six.
Has set a track record of 1:07.82 for 1200m in a $100,000 race at Wyong.
Has beaten Shoot Out the two times they have met.
A race like the Stradbroke Hcp could be a good race for her.

Top five now...
Typhoon Tracy,
Alcopop,
So You Think,
Starspangledbanner,
All Silent

So You Think
More Joyous
By Far the best 4 horses in the country
Star Witness - best 2yo ive seen in ages. Could be one of those horses who just wins everything at every age until retirement.

I still regret the day they retired Samantha Miss. Would, in my mind, be the best horse in the country by a fair margin

Black Caviar, Typhoon Tracy, Linton, More Joyous, So You Think are the ones I'd like to be taking into the Spring Carnival this year
