Nank - 2019 VFL final Punt Rd V Bombers

The Bombers had a match winning lead at 3/4 time , 40 pts up during the last qtr

Nank, returning from injury , went into BEAST mode in the last qtr , as only Nank can do and got us over the line
with the amount of match time he had leading into that game he should have been putting in the short ones

only VFL you say , our VFL side set a very high standard that year with a team loaded with AFL ready or proven talent that couldn't break into the top side
a fortnight before we played that side at Windy Hill , the game was a seriously good standard and went right down to the wire
A yet to debut Irving Mosquito was putting on a clinic for them that day

Nank has a habit of finding an extra gear in last qtrs and I believe it was as good as any of his AFL performances

and in the VFL GF V Willy
the much touted Marlion Pickett gets BOG and wins himself a AFL GF berth
again this was a come from behind win by us,
Pickett didn't win this single handed , Egg was super composed down back , CCJ really imposed himself
and RCD gave us a glimpse of the future , but Pickett worked hard all game along and added little bits of class for a very complete performance

both games deserve mentions
Just a slight correction. The 2019 VFL grand final was NOT a come from behind win. We led the entire way, but had to hold off a fast finishing Williamstown, who never gave up. They got within less than a goal at various stages, but never led. The umpires did all they could to win them the game, but they just fell short. Pickett, Markov, RCD and Egg all stood up when they needed to

Alex Rance- Round 10 2017, Richmond vs Essendon (Dreamtime at the G). He absolutely destroyed Daniher, and completely took him out of the game. It was probably Daniher's only bad game for the year, as he had an outstanding 2017 season. But Rance made him look second rate and was a warrior in defence all night

Dustin Martin- Round 1 2017, Richmond vs Carlton. This was one of the most complete performances of the modern era, by any player. With 30 plus possessions and 4 goals, Martin immediately catapulted into brownlow favoritism, which set the tone for an outstanding season

Jack Riewoldt- Round 21 Richmond vs Gold Coast. Jack was on fire from start to finish. He kicked 10 goals and set up a couple of others, to finish with 3 brownlow votes and 200 + Supercoach Points. Till this day, he remains the last player to score 10 goals plus in a match

Kane Lambert- Round 15 Richmond vs Gold Coast. Lambert often flies under the radar, but he played a game for the ages two years ago against the Suns. Not only did he get more than 30 possessions, but he also kicked three goals and was the clear standout in a dominant team performance

Toby Nankervis- 2020 Prelim final, Richmond vs Port Adelaide. Nankervis was dominant all around the ground, and not only took several important, contested marks in defence, but starred at the stoppages. Port Adelaide's midfield was ranked number one for all of last year, but we belted them in clearances, partially due to the impressive ruck work of big Nank

Alex rance vs GWS midway through 2017. Was definitely a loss.
It was the game where I had finally admitted to myself that he was the best player I had seen for the tigers. Never thought anyone would come close to Richo, 2 players have now gone past him in my 30 years of watching Richmond

Surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet, but the Round 3 game against West Coast in 2017. First half in blazing sunshine, then a massive storm came over at half time and early in the third quarter. Absolutely belted down for the whole second half, we were down 5.6 to 5.13 at half time and kicked 6.4 to 3.4 in the second half. One man put in the performance to get us over the line. The great D Martin!

33 kicks, 7 handballs, 15 (yes FIFTEEN!) clearances, 5 tackles and 2 goals.

A sign of things to come over the next four years.

For those playing at home, Daniel Rioli kicked goal of the year in that game too

Was a great performance, everytime we play against a strong oppo he lifts. Geelong and West Coast especially

Cotchin vs Sydney R13 in 2015. It was the game where Cotchin decided he wasn't going to be a stat-padding seagull around the HBF anymore. We were 5 goals down at half-time (in Sydney) and Cotchin spent the 2nd half throwing himself at contests like a beserker. We got up (the sealer was Maric's 'penalty'), and Jack kicked 6, but Cotchin was fantatstic and most of what he did could only be noticed in slo-mo replays (Jack got the Brownlow votes on the night).

Alex Rance vs Sydney 2014. 8 wins in a row and we needed to beat sydney in Sydney to scrape into finals. He was a wall unto himself in that last quarter.

Cotchin vs Bulldogs 2012. 35 touches and 3 goals, cemented his brownlow season.

Cochin vs Saints 2014. 31 touches and 5 goals, just tore the Saints to shreds when our season was spiraling and started our 9 game win streak

Lids vs Hawthorn in 2015 - Had a few players that day stand up but he was fantastic in the forward line.

Georgie boy has had so many "almost" games. If he ever gets one game where he gets everything right, it would be possibly be the best individual performance of a small forward ever.
