It's the priority picks that I can't stand. They should be abolished all together. They don't reward mediocraty, they reward incompetance.

They should then split the 1st round draft into 4 groups (13-16, 9-12 etc), then & have a draw on draft day for the order.

maybe it should be a lottery to who gets what picks in the first round. And priority picks should be only be there if a team has won less than 8 over two years
Yes that sounds like a terrific idea, however maybe the lower you finish the higher the chance you have of getting the better pick. This way clubs are not assured of a good pick when finishing low, yet they still have a good chance of getting a better player to rebuild their list This way clubs would be forced to continue trying their hardest till the end of the season and not purposely bomb out in order to get the best pick. I think in the NBA they do a lottery or something of the like.

I dont think many people have too much of a problem (and the draftees wouldnt) of going to a bottom team because any chance is a good chance but it is more a problem of going to a crap club like the bulldogs and the kangaroos where there is no money and basically no future. If i was drafted to a club like richmond or hawthorn, i would love it

It's not the Draft I have a problem with - it's the extra draft picks handed out to those who can't win more than a few games. Grossly unfair to all the other clubs, and should never have been brought in.
