Best Lions wins/games?

I reckon the best Lions win so far, would have to be the win against Carlton, Optus Oval Round 11 (I think!), in 1999.

It was a top day, and truly reminded me of watching the Roys!!!

The win in the last game at Vic Park was also pretty good - primarily due to the fact that it was good to pump Collingwood on their home turf, for their last outing there.

The last 3 games against the Roos have also been extremely good matches (unfortunately, all being won by the wrong side).

What does everybody else reckon?

Last year the win against Sydney at the SCG was awesome, considering the hopless position at 1/2 time.

One of the most memorable was the last game of the year for the wooden spooners in 1998 vs St Kilda at the Gabba. Again the average 1st half had us all thinking of the inevitable. Then they started to come back & I clearly remember the Simon Black goal that put us in front for what seemed like the 1st time in about 22 games!

yeah - I cannot wait to beat the crap out of those Roos in rnd 2( is it rnd 2?)

Olmy I have to agree with you on those ones, and Vossy coming out to complete the win with his head bandaged at OO was fantastic. Was that the same game Lambert got his shattered cheekbone??


Mud 'n ' Blood - I put that win down as one of the best ever in the Bears history!! Oh it was a great day!! We were all ready to leave just after half time and my sister called my Dad's mobile from outside the ground to say the car was parked in!! Praise be to the person that parked us in that day!!! It was the beginning of the run that let the Bears enter their first finals series ever! A year never to be forgotten!!

From other Bears game - the best win I can ever remember is a tie between 2 games, that happened 2 weeks in a row.

Beating Essendon by 1pt in the finals in 1996, Wanganeen hitting the post with 16 secs to go!! I still get goosebumps just thinking about it, let alone when I watch the video.

And to top it off by beating Carlton by 97 or so pts the next week was just an obsolute euphoric experience.

For the Brissy Lions - the 100 pt win over West Coast in 99 was great. Actually I think the 1st qtr of that game was better than the whole game itself.
And the comeback to lose by only 1 pt against North at colonial this year. that was a friggen spectacular game (well maybe not whole game but definately - last quarter!)

Yep, you're right Danni. That Carlton game was the one where Lambert injured his jaw (nasty it was too). Courtesty of D.Rice!

The game when we pumped Melbourne - R.21 1999 was also a ripper! Well, it was just good to see those arrogant Dees supporters outnumbered by Lions supporters!

Probably the finals win against the Dogs this season, for the following reasons.

1. Power was awesome to watch
2. Ditto Voss
3. It proved we were worthy of finishing sixth.
4. It's always good to beat the eye-scratchers!
5. We played excellent football.

The last two Geelong wins at Shell Stadium (Kardinia Park) - 98 & 2000 have been memorable for me. I still remember coming back up the freeway giving the thumbs up to many happy Brisbane supporters. Its always good going into enemy territory and coming away with the four points. Especially when you are very outnumbered!
