His kicking efficiency is 59.8% which is below average. Nobel/Pickett have played their roles in better teams and would have more opportunity in worse teams. D'Ambrossio already looks quality from this years crop. Again he is good and can be a very good player but he isn't smoking the competitionBelow average kick? He's the 2nd best kick going inside 50 (the hardest kick in footy) and the best clearance to score player in the league.
And it's not even depth, he'd be a 3rd or 4th mid at most top 8 teams, (and that's just atm, he'll only get better).
Midfields run 4-5 deep, with the range of CBAs mixed from 10-20, most rotational mids who spend more time forward, would be 5-9, he'd be in the next rung which is most 4th mids for example around 12-15 (he'd play fwd too) and then you've got 3rd mids and players who start on field and probably be around 15-18 could be as much as 20, but then you've got the main couple mids who'd be in the 20s.
He's a versatile player so playing forward, or on the outside ontop of this wouldn't hurt him, it'd probably benefit him in getting more chances to get the footy and kick inside 50.
And yes he is, there's no one even currently at his level of production, Pickett would be the closest this year, Noble probably next but both a roleplayers. Newcombe is more than that and will only continue to do so.
