So you're saying that lose man in defence is more valuable to the team then a marking CHF?

hahaha:D

Mate, I have read a few of your posts and I don't hink you have a very sound understanding of the game. Hodge is a lot more than a loose man in defence mate. I'm not going to break it down for you so you can understand it but if you watch more than 2 Hawthorn games a year you would see what he actually does. I mean all the experts at the start of the seaon had Hodge in the top 5 in the AFL. James Hird even rated him the 2nd best player in the comp a couple of weeks ago... So I will take their opinion over your misguided one :thumbsu:

Riewoldt consistently gets the job done and is probably underrated even though he is held in high regard. He is pretty much unbeatable when fit. Hodge is also a great player, but he has shown that he is able to be controlled if sat on (Riewoldt is sat on every week playing CHF).

Out of the rest, Cooney probably leads the way (how quickly do we forget - his football in the first 12 rounds of last year was outstanding).

Not much on a mention here for Marc Murphy, but I think he'll be the number 1 player in the comp in 2 years. Awesome player who has it all (see match against Bulldogs if you question this) and is probably the closest in similarity to Ablett.

Deledio is also unfairly treated. Needs to find more consistency, but he is still young enough to realise his potential. Probably the best mark for his side in the comp - the Tigers could do worse than play him at CHF and run the CHB silly.

Easy:

Goddard
Gibbs
Johnstone
Gardiner

All the rest were priority picks. If you're going to list priority picks then you may as well have Matthew Lloyd and David Wirrpanda who were both taken as compensation picks (after their respective clubs did deals with Femantle of course) in '95 and '96 respectively.

So if they werent priority picks they wouldn't have gone #1 in their draft? Loser :thumbsd:

Honestly this thread is ridiculous and a waste of time... This is a question that should be asked in 5 years time, if the players who have played 7+ years of football arent ahead of most of the younger players then there career has been a fail.
