Was having a look at the 'Team of the Decade' that was done back in 2000. Would there be any changes from that team for a best team between 1991-2006?

Team of the Decade 1991-2000

F: Darren Jarman - Tony Modra - Matthew Liptak
HF: Kane Johnson - Matthew Robran - Andrew McLeod
C: Greg Anderson - Andrew Jarman - Simon Tregenza
HB: Nigel Smart - Peter Caven - Mark Ricciuto
B: Ben Hart - Rod Jameson - Mark Bickley
Foll: Shaun Rehn - Chris McDermott (capt.) - Tony McGuinness
Int: Mark Mickan - Simon Goodwin - David Pittman - Rodney Maynard

Team of Champions 1991-2006

F: Darren Jarman - Tony Modra - Tyson Edwards
HF: Kane Johnson - Matthew Robran - Andrew Jarman
C: Brett Burton - Mark Ricciuto - Simon Tregenza
HB: Nigel Smart - Peter Caven - Andrew McLeod
B: Ben Hart - Rod Jameson - Mark Bickley
Foll: Shaun Rehn - Simon Goodwin - Tony McGuinness
Int: Mark Mickan - Matthew Liptak - David Pittman - Ben Rutten

Im thinking in a few years time that Graham Johncock would be an addition.

I could only see two changes to the Team of the Decade.

In: Mathew Clarke and Graham Johncock

Out: Mark Mickan and Simon Tregenza

Simon Goodwin to a wing to replace Simon Tregenza and Graham Johncock will take Simon Goodwin spot on the interchange bench.

Maybe Ben Rutten could take Rodney Maynard spot but I am now sure if truck has done enough yet.

Clarke and Mickan would simple exchange spots

Mark Ricciuto has earned the centre spot in front of Andrew Jarman, allowing Andrew Mcleod to move back to a half back flank and then Andrew Jarman could go to the half forward flank.

I don’t know what you’re saying?

I never said anything about Greg Anderson? And I guess I would as I cannot see any viable option to swap with him. Maybe in 4 or 5 year Brett Burton or Martin Mattner may have done enough on a wing but not just yet.

I would think that Burton has done more than Anderson did for us. Greg had one really good year (AA 1993), but only played 59 games in the tricolours.

Burton, Stinger, and a little fellow who wears number 9 would all have to be considered ahead of Anderson.

Correct, Tyson Edwards would be a Monty for the team now.:thumbsu:

Why do we need 3 ruckmen? I'd take Pittman off and put Johncock, Stenglein or Maynard on that bench. Or Sean Wellman if he didn't leave :(

Bickley should be captain for mine. Any player who leads the club to 2 flags deserves to be the captain until another captain surpasses that achievement.

agree :thumbsu: If Roo bags one or two in coming yrs we can reconsider then

Not for me - Roo's twice been named AA captain. That's good enough for me. The other AFL captains also have voted him the best leader at least once (perhaps more, can't remember). Bickley was a terrific leader - but Roo's the heart and soul of the club. He's inspirational.

I agree

I'd take Stenglein any day over Pittman.

I know its not really for the Crows, but he almost single-handedly won the game back for WCE against the Cats. The guy sometimes slips under the radar, but he's a hardworker and can fill multiple roles in any team.

Probably be another team of the decade in 2010 and maybe another best ever team also.
a 1996 till 2006 best of would pick itself.
