Which actors have finely executed a sublime movie masterpiece? Additionally, what is the best performance ever in your opinion.

Straight off the bat I believe Di Caprio was superb in quite a number. How he has won only one oscar, and winning it so late in his career is total bullshit. What's eating Gilbert Grape, the Basketball Diaries which were two of his earlier makes were astonishing for a young fella. The Departed, Blood Diamond, The Wolf of Wall Street also magical work.

Grotto will love this and De Niro in Heat+Casino was first class. One of the best ever, hands down. Nichollson in the Departed also a brilliantly crafted masterpiece.

As for the single best performance ever, would have to think on that a little longer.

This is Heath Ledger: The Thread. His Joker will always be the GOAT acting performance
Hell naw, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter >>> Ledger’s Joker.

Heath Ledger was great but isn’t even the best Joker of all time let alone GOAT performance.

LOL wut?
I was aghast when he was casted not being that enamoured with his acting chops but he nailed it. The subtle inflections. The walking ambling gait when exiting the hospital. The chewing cud affectation.
The simple "Hi" to Dent in hospital.
Im probs biased but it was the Joker I wanted and needed to see.
Nicholson?pfft. Joker paint by numbers. Romero In Batman 60's fun but hardly memorable. Leto? LOL.

Romero is the truest & best interpretation of the original Joker character.
Nicholson/ Ledger on par for different reasons.

Leto was good but htf do you follow Ledger..?

As a teen it was probably F. Murray Abraham in Amadeus, and maybe Robert De Niro in The Deer Hunter around the time I was 20.

Nowadays I wouldn't have the faintest clue. There are thousands of great performances, and comparing them from such a sample seems a little ridiculous personally. I think I'm more inclined towards directing and editing in terms of making a great film.

Lesley Manville in Another Year is probably the performance which impressed me the most this decade.
