The player who brought the most value to the team was Cameron Mooney. The coaching staff took it upon themselves to settle Mooney in to that FF/CHF role in 2007, and build the forward half around him.

The Cat's have always possessed (at their best) the games elite defence, and a midfield blessed with a plethora of talent, whilst the the forward line has squandered along as your achilles heel.

Mooney gave leadership, prescence and direction and allowed to Geelong to successfully implement that run n' gun style of play, because not only did he take big marks, win at the contests, kick goals, he intimidated by busting open packs and creating opportunities for other players, and most importantly he did it CONSISTENTLY.

Gave Geelong what they so desperately needed that big, strong deep forward threat. :thumbsu: He really does motivate and inspire those around him, I've never really liked the bloke but I got a real kick out of watching him in 07.

I believe it was Mooney himself that initiated that.

Bartel was the better player.

Most Fans are into flashy players but if you look at who was the absolute general of our team you cant go passed Bartel. Plugged the hole in defence in the last 1/4 almost every game as bomber has the utmost faith in the man to be cool under pressure. When he went forward he was unbelievably dangerous, due to his contested marking abilities, and his beautiful long and direct kicking (ablett sprayed too many on the run this year).

Bartel is the better player, ablett more bursty thus stiffening the fans jolly rogers and hypnotising their opinions.

Ablett was brilliant, Bartel was sublime and without peer..

Why are more people not voting for Tenace? Come on guys. Where were you all this season? Had your heads in the sand?!
Apart from getting a bath from every Essendon hack forward when he actually had to be accountable in just 1 game(Rd 14), he was inspirational!!! :(

Shannon Byrnes gets my vote.... ;)
