Forgot all about Krueger, how's he performing? Is he performing or is he still injured? Are any of our rookies performing well?
Speaking of the defensive future; add Parker in there aswell. Midfielders that I can think of; Reilly, with help from Gallagher, Bode and Doughty.
Fingers crossed Krueger should be back for Glenelg next week. Still recovering from that back injury that has sidelined him fror a total of 15 weeks  :(

Watts is coming on nicely, isn't he. He's in foreign territory playing out of a pocket, because the Eagles have a good CHF and FF, but still improving week by week. He has very strong hands in a contested situation, which is just what the doctor ordered.

It's a pity he couldn't play CHF because I think he would develop even quicker if that was the case.

He's got the goodies alright.

His kicking is improving as well, as I noticed he's holding the ball correctly now - they've obviously been working on this with him.

I'd like one more classy young tall and a couple of quick inside mid-fielders in the draft this year.
I think its a very smart move playing him out of the pocket. Playing him in key position especially at CHF could burn him out. We are obviously very patient with him and rightly so. Anyone who has seen him play yesterday would have to see a bright future.

We definetly need another classy physical tall and a couple of good misdfielders. I am keeping a close eye on this Gallagher lad from Sturt. While I haven't seen him play he has been playing for Sturt U19s and has regularly been in best players even bobbing up for a goal or 2 regularly. It would be interesting to see how he is rated come draft time and whether we take him with father-son pick or not.

Apologies for the likes of Roo who I couldnt fit into my best players. He wasnt as damaging as his possesions suggested in my opinion.

He looks to have made the step up in class (speed, decision making, awareness) effortlessly. While it's still very early days he does look ultra-promising - reminds me of Gary Ablett Jnr. the way he goes about the game.

5. Roo - continues to lead from the front.
4. Stinger - great in close & with the clearances.
3. Clarke - dominated the taps & they went to our advantage!
2. Stiffy - broke the game open in the 2nd quarter & made Wangas look slow.
1. McGregor - made me eat my words about playing him CHF. Great dual with Chadly.

BTM
3. Carey - would have liked to put him in my BOG votes.
2. Massie - great rebound from HB & rewarded with a goal.
1. Begley - shut down S Burgoyne, meaning we only had to worry about Tredders.

BR
1. Hentschel - love his coolness under pressure. Apologies to Jericho, who was also deserving of a vote.

5. Ricciuto - superb from the skipper
4. Stenglein - clearance king, committed his body to the opposition tacklers and did not allow the opposition any easy clearances
3. McGregor - a beacon in attack, some great contested marks
2. Clarke - dominated 1st half ruck contests.
1. McLeod - started the trek back to what we know he can do

Team Man
3. Stenglein - see above
2. Begley - totally shutdown S Burgoyne.
1. Mattner - some magnificent tackles. His tackle & the pinning of the arm on Schofield in the 2nd quarter was a highlight for me.

Rookie
1. Hentschel - cool under pressure, hopefully he can develop into a key position player rather than flanker, with more experience and maturity.

5 - Roooooooooooooooooooooooo- what a player and a leader. Will be remembered as one of the all time greats of AFL when its over.

4- Stenglein - hard as nails, great clearences - our next captain

3- Clarke - great work son, great tap work. Pls do something around the ground though

2 - McGregor - super effort at CHF. He has shown me to be quite wrong about his abilitiy as a forward.

1- Stiffy - what a great kid. That exchange with the umpire after Wilso smashed him was a classic.

Apologies - rest of the team

Team Man

3 M Clarke
2 N Bassett - no one tries harded and he had the hardest job in footy
1 K Massie - a real workhorse who has been a super trade

Rookie

1 Jericho - just super impressed with how he finished the match so well after making a couple of silly mistakes early on. Could be anything this lad. Well done James Fantasia

Comment

Could give a write up about anyone in the team this week but Kudos to Ben Hudson for backing up Clarke in the ruck. he may wel miss out next week but he has been invaluable in Rhett's abscene. Again well done to Fantasia.
