Chuck D.

Not that I'm a massive Public Enemy fan, but his delivery is superlatively strong and his content is generally intelligent.

Chuck D: "Elvis was a rascist that's simple and plain and he don't mean ******** to me" - [even though I disagree with him on that point] the guy has got cajones like bowling balls and obviously very intelligent

Ice-T for "Born Dead" alone [even though he is a bit Hollywood now]

Based on what? Skill or Influence?

For influence i guess you can't go past Tupac, although i'm not a huge fan.

Skills in my opinion would go to Charlie 2na, can't get enough of this dudes style.

Chuck D = intense.

Em's ability to rhyme so many words in just a sentence or two is pretty impressive, without reverting to nonsensical rhymes that lose the gist of the actual narrative.

Charli 2na is fantastic to listen to, the man oozes soul and ease of delivery.

Zac de la Rocha from RATM for the amount of anger he could deliver every time they played live. Simply breathtaking.

Hard to say...Kool Keith perhaps.

Surprised no one has mentioned Rakim yet.

As for right now, I'm a fan of One Be Lo...his stuff is worth checking out.

Yeah, Charli 2na is great...but I actually prefer listening to Zaakir.
