Has the co-ordination of a Meditteranean Sea-slug.....

Seaby >> Ackland, Cam Cloke, o'Hailpin, etc

Speaks volumes for the co-ordination of your own ruckmen :)

how on earth anyone can say a combo of cox and seaby is better than lade and bogan is beyond me, the topic is combo not single ruckman, the only reason people are selecting the coasters is cos of cox. as a duo there is no better than lade and brogan. both worthy of being no. 1 ruck in any team, seaby isnt that great a ruckmen 2nd string at best.
Based on the stats, Brogan and Seaby are actually pretty close, both average around 10 disposals, bot average 12 hitouts, both average 2 tackles a game and Seaby kicks .7 gpg compared to .3 gpg

Of course Brogan is the better player overall though Seaby does have a good use in the forward line at times (didnt say great just CAN be useful)

So overall its Cox-Lade-Brogan-Seaby

I would rate Cox ahead of lade (though not by much) and then Brogan only marginally better than Seaby (injuries also a factor for Brogan atm-dragging him down a lot)
Being bias of course but the poll is correct IMO (ie Eagles only marginally in front atm)

Yeah but is he better then Brogan? :p

Askland is the Carlton version of Steady Eddie :)

I am truely amazed by this, but Ackland has actually improved a bit since Ratten took over. Quite extraordinary. Could just be a short term thing I guess. Think he knows his days are numbered with Hampson, Aisake, and possibly Kruezer pressing for selection over the the next few years. Now that is ruck talent. serious ruck talent. :)

personally Parrot, do you foresee Ratten being the best possible option for your club??? do you think he will forgo any area in the Blues development... IMO I hope he does a marvelous job but it would never be easy taking over such a young bunch of players when leaders are soon to leave (after already witnessing the loss of Kouta and Lappin)

Absolutely. Initially I was hoping Voss would get the Job, but was beginning to sway even before Voss pulled out, because his heart didn't seem in it. The more I've seen of Ratten the more I've been impressed. An excellent communicator and is genuinely highly regarded by our younger, developing players. He is a great teacher. He knows what success is and what is required to win flags being a premiership midfielder. Having list talent is one thing, but having someone that can develop that talent is another, and I think He's the ideal man for the Job. In a way I feel sorry for Denis, because he copped a lot of crap, and left after he finally got the talent he needed. The problem was his message wasn't getting through, and he lost his passion. Denis was a great coach, but timing and circumstance were against him. :)

Hmm i totally agree.... 90% of coaches would have 'failed' in that sense of the word with that timing. Was always gonna have issues and was never cut any slack... Anyway I agree Ratten was most likely the right man for the job and I think they should be aiming pretty high next year (in comparison) Finals should be too long out of the equation given 2 years or so
