have you thought about setting up an all in one unit with a fax printer copier and scanner on the laptop decent ones start from around $699.00

hewlett packard 6110 $699

cannon mpfc600 $699

epson cx5100 $599(no fax)

few things when buying digital camera's

Mega Pixels, higher the better

Digital Zoom and Optical Zoom
Optical Zoom is good as it doesnt effect image quality (long story)
Battery Power.. not 2 important but its there

Printers... get a Canon S520. Pretty good. Seprate ink cartridges, and nice quality. I got 1, works fine, except for a noise sometimes (humming when i turn it off, obviously it must be faulty) but other than that, its an EXCELENT CHOICE

i think theres a step up from S520 for a few more $$$, just prints faster, neway gotta go, bye

Yeah i got a Hewlett Packard psc 750, which is a printer, scanner, AND copier in one. Cost me around $500 i think. I found it very useful - i could print, scan and copy all i want without having to wait to go to uni to do it, especially the scan and copy bits. As you can see in the pic below, you lift the lid up to scan and copy and it along with any print jobs comes out in the compartment above the paper. You cannot scan or print onto anything other than A4, but i have found this a minor inconvienence compared to the advantages the HP psc had had.

one golden rule when buying a digital camera and it may sound obvious is to buy one from a good camera brand name

eg: canon sony kodak beware of cheap cameras from the likes of

samsung, hp etc who tend to put thier name on many things without giving you much backup support

I'll throw a vote in for the Olympus digital cameras (we have two!). Rock solid - they are perhaps the most traditionally designed digital cameras. Resolution will depend on what you're planning to do with the pics. 2MP is overkill if you are just going to use the pics on the internet - the more the better if you're going to print.

My dad wants to buy a digital camera and doesn’t want to pay too much for one.
His mate has got an Olympus C-150, which apparently is pretty cheap and seems pretty good. Another one;s hes seen is a Canon PowerShot A300, which also seems pretty good.
I had a look at both these items on the net, but I don't know much about them.

Does anyone know if there any good? Or can you recomend a different type?

Thanks in advance.

digital cameras

i WORK with digital cameras and to be honest no cameras i have tried have taken shots as good as the fuji - my fave being the s602 - if u have a small budget seek out the 303 or thr 410 model. The super CCD on them make for great shots. I liked the look and feel of the olympus mju 300/400 but disapointed with the results. The canon a60 is alslo not bad - but check out the fujis.
