OK, my go here.....

B: Egan Scarlett J.Hunt

HB: Milburn Harley Enright

C: Corey Bartel Selwood

HF: S.Johnson Mooney P.Chapman

F: Stokes N.Ablett Hawkins

R: Ottens Ling G.Ablett

INT: Davenport Mackie Rooke Blake

if ive forgotten anyone, please tell me...
Wojcinski, Kelly?

The lack of Davenport on the first page is disturbing.

B: Harley, Scarlett, Milburn
HB: Mackie, Egan, Enright
C: Kelly, Corey, Ling
HF: Chapman, N.Ablett, S.Johnson
FF: Hawkins, Mooney, Stokes
R: Ottens, Ablett, Bartel
IB: Blake, Selwood, Davenport, Rooke
Wojcinski?

Harley Scarlett Mackie
Milburn Egan Rooke
Enright Bartel Kelly
N Ablett Mooney Chapman
Stokes Hawkins S Johnson
Ottens Corey G Ablett
Blake Selwood Prismall Ling

Man, its a hard side to pick.
Wojcinski?

It seems Woja is the forgotten/underrated man among some…

For me:

B: Harley, Scarlett, Milburn

HB: Mackie, Egan, Enright

C: Selwood, Bartel, Corey

HF: Chapman, N.Ablett, S.Johnson

FF: Hawkins, Mooney, Stokes

R: Ottens, G. Ablett, Ling

I/C: Blake, Kelly, Wojcinski, Rooke

E: J. Hunt, Prismall, Davenport

Out: King, Byrnes, J. Hunt

In: Blake, Hawkins, Egan

Depending on matchups Davenport could easily be brought in for Hawkins.

Considering he usually plays on the least threatening forward, or even up in the midfield, he doesn't get nearly enough quality disposals to justify his place. Sure, he'll do one, maybe two slaloming runs off half-back per game, but what else? Has to do more to stay in the team.

B: Harley - Scarlett - Enright
HB: Mackie - Egan - Milburn
C: Kelly - Bartel - Corey
HF: S.Johnson - Mooney - Chapman
F: Hawkins - N.Ablett - Stokes
R: Ottens - Ling - G.Ablett
I/C: Rooke - Blake - Selwood - Prismall

E: Varcoe / Davenport / Hunt / Woj

Man I give up! There's not enough places in the team. Not a bad problem to have :)

Might start Woj on the pine and move Prismall to Emergency

True. Woja didn't have a big finals series and his form did tail off toward the end of the season. The fact is we were going along so well and were only going to make minimal changes, so Woja could afford to coast along.

Still, one of my favourites though, love watching him go for a dash, hope 2008 is a big year for him.

Fair enough, although i think he has been factored into playing a role in the future... otherwise he would have been traded. I have always considered him a definite best 22 but his for certainly did trail off in the finals. Hope he has a killer season next year.

cat_fanatic: I'm aware I left Wojak out. I love him dearly but with everyone fit (which is unlikely so realistically he would make it) I would prefer Davenport was given an opportunity. I just think he will offer more. Probably just as quick with much better delivery and decision making.

But as I said there will be injuries and playing Hawkins and N Ablett may not be suitable and in that case the next man I'd want in is Wojcinski.

Kelly has improved too much to be left out. Just remember that the players you guys are putting up need to prove themselves in the magoos before really being worthy of a side that won 18 games this year. Apart from Byrnes, King and maybe Hunt, I can't see the BEST side changing much until some players step up (hopefully hawkins, prismal, djerkurra and varcoe) but until then, the current players don't deserve to be dropped until they slide. This pressure is likely to keep them playing to the top of their game anyway.

from the granny,

Out: King, Byrnes
and thanks to the pre-season, i'd say they'll keep the same structure and go
In: Blake, Varcoe.

Varcoe I think will be twice as good with thanks to the summer, and until that team slides or gets injured, I think its the best team we have.

edit - i forgot about egan, I guess Hunt will have to make way for him???

He'll certainly get more opportunities next season you would think.

I'll go with something like...

B: Harley - Scarlett - Hunt
HB: Mackie - Egan - Milburn
C: Enright - Bartel - Corey
HF: S.Johnson - Mooney - Chapman
F: N.Ablett - Hawkins - Stokes
R: Ottens - Ling - G.Ablett
I/C: Rooke - Blake - Selwood - Kelly

Egan is automatic, and I seriously expect Hawkins to be part of the team next year.
This team is about right. They'll want to get games into Hawkins and I think either Gamble or Davenport will play at stages. It could be a make or break year for Varcoe.

With Hawkins in the fwd line, it's almost the perfect balance of smalls and talls....very hard to match up on.

Having Kelly on the bench is a bit stiff, given his good year and great finals series. However, i can see him and Selwood rotating through a gun midfield.

Great side.

Trust me, Hawkins and Nathan Ablett will be in the team together next year. Of that I have no doubt whatsoever. We already saw glimpses this year against Carlton and Richmond of what can happen when they work in tandem. Once they both get fitter and more experienced, it's going to be a pretty useful combination.

From the GF side, Blake and Egan are the obvious two definite ins. But aside from those two, Hawkins will be the only one I can really foresee playing a substantial, consistent (ie securing a position in the team at the best of times) role in next years 22.

Guys like Prismall, Hunt, Tenace, Davenport, Djerrkura, Gamble, Varcoe, and Byrnes will be the main fringe players nipping at the heels week in, week out, and occasionally grabbing spots. At this point in time (and without the foresight of injuries/form), I'd be surprised if any secured a spot next season.
