I don't see us with an extra tall for Rd 1 given we've not played one over the pre season (when simulating a real team). Like it or not I don't think it's in the plan for now. It doesn't gel with the messaging:

• Team needs wins
• Team has brought in Darling, Parker & Daniel

Everything points to a team that whilst still developing has drawn a line and saying they are taking it seriously - we would have given an extra tall a run by now if we had an intention of playing them. Just IMO.

Agree that signs are pointing away from Pink or Teakle playing round one.

We only played 23 against WC even when we had Pink, Teakle and Hardeman available.

There is no doubt in my mind that FOS is selected.

So in terms of finding two spots free for Jy and Parker, I think one replaces Bergman, and the other replaces one of Konstanty, Lmac, Phillips, Stephens or Tucker.

I included Phillips as an option just because he had the least ToG of any of the inside mids we played against WC, and if the powers that be wanted to give Parker a more midfield-orientated role for round one, I think it would most likely be at WiPhi's expense.

But I agree Simpkin straight in for Konstanty is probably the most likely option.

Although my preference would be to play FoS predominately in defence and drop lmac instead.

I have to add 1 thing, the best possible singularity that could occur to improve this side is Larkey missing 6 weeks of football. I feel we get stuck with him in the side right now. After that 6 weeks, I hope we have found a better function and he can slot in and thrive.

Agree on both of those. I don't think Lmac gets dropped, but IMO it's a risk worth taking given the statement we are trying to make from Rd 1. Be frustrating to be almost but not quite there, then make that call 8 weeks in when the season is slipping away.

Yeah sounds good. I hope we drop X, Sheezel and Logue too. Far too reliant on these blokes in the ruck, on the ball and down back - let's drop them all and see if we can find someone else to do what they do for 6 weeks :lern stook

he is a limited player with a low ceiling who should be in the vfl instead of gifted games

I especially loved that occasion on the weekend where he completely butchered the ball from 50m out which resulted in our 1st goal for the game if I remember correctly.

Think the point is we did all second half of last year to great effect

Compared to when we didn’t in the first half of the year

So let’s go back to what didn’t work it seems
