Great Article by Jon Ralph. At least some journo's are giving SOS the credit he deserves;
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...e/news-story/9695d1d31470683e6251e815174d7830

Thought it was a shit article, passive aggressive crap. Couldn't even get the pick 7/KJ/Whiley trade correct.....ffs is it too hard to expect a journo to get the details correct?? From the article

"The Blues then took Dillon Viojo-Rainbow (pick 28), Clem Smith (pick 60), Jayden Foster (pick 71), free agent Matthew Dick, traded pick 46 (Caleb Daniel) for Mark Whiley and Jones."

Yeah not really important details however if you are writing an article about our trading, get the ****ing trades right. Ive always liked Ralph, hes a great bloke to have a chat with and is really polite, (I met Robbo at the same time who is about as rude as they come) but this is your job pay attention to detail and get your facts right.

I thought it may be interesting to revisit this thread. It seems recent sentiment has changed with regards to 2 players in particular Weitering and Zac Fisher. Also we know much more about Charlie, we are no wiser about Harry. Does anyone want to change their vote? Should I change /add to options?

I'm still happy with all the picks, Charlie's a star but every one new that except 11 list managers. Williamson and Fisher were genius.

I look forward to revisiting this thread during the bye and factoring in the 2017 draftees. As I see it:

2015 best 22 Weitering, Charlie and Jack.
2015 fringe best 22 McKay and Cuningham.

2016 best 22 Samo, Fisher and Williamson.
2016 fringe best 22 Macreadie.
2016 Up and coming Polson and Kerr.

Far better strike rate than pre-SOS.

Hard to rank the 2017 draftees after round 1 with just Dow and Garlett playing ...

2017 best 22 Dow.
2017 fringe best 22 O’Brien, Garlett.
2017 Up and coming TDK and Schumacher.
2017 Depth O’Shea.

I think this thread needs to be updated with 2017 and 2018 drafts.
SOS has actually nailed each one. He continually puts us in a better position than the year before, and his outside the box thinking is such an asset to have. The best list manager in the league.

The thing i love most about the new regime is that everything is kept in house. With the old team you would know who we are picking a week before the draft. Where as now, not even the player knew he was getting picked up!

the old regime were so porous I knew we were taking walsh 7 years ago............
It was on the whiteboard behind Agresta in the pre-draft interview.

****ing amateur hour

I'm sold. You don't get BOG honours in your 3rd or 4th game without having 'it'.

Has also shown the professionalism to come back in great shape for pre-season. Big season coming up if our bigger bodied mids can stay on the field and allow Samo to be damaging.

I’m not sold on SPS yet
I can see where you are coming from AWG. Played the best first game against Collingwood in 2017 ( i think it was his first game
) but looked out of sorts for a lot of 2018. Some doubts on his fitness and perhaps he will have the benefit of a full preseason next year.

SPS is a midfielder, and needs to play in the guts.. he is not a small fwd, and if he is played anywhere but in the guts he will fail. He needs to regularly get his hands on the footy and plays with confidence. If we back him in, I have no doubt he develops into an elite player.

I'm still happy with all the picks, Charlie's a star but every one new that except 11 list managers. Williamson and Fisher were genius.
fisher was simply an inspired choice...........dream pick...........would walk into every team..........
