As poor as people like to say we are, Collingwood only lost twice by more than 30 points and none by more than 40. I'm assuming they were the only side in the comp not to be blown out in a game (I can't recall a Melbourne thrashing to be fair though)
Lowest highest losing margin of any team this year. 37 against Essendon.

Hawks. After that disaster of a start they played great footy. Beat the Swans twice, Adelaide in Adelaide, drew with GWS and should have beat Geelong. Beat the Dees also and dogs in the last round who still could have made the 8.

Dees and Saints were the biggest disappointments. Looked a million bucks at times, particularly in the first 14 weeks or so then really struggled.
Nah, disagree about them beating us. Yes Smith missed a shot yet again with seconds left, but Danger missed a set shot, 30m out directly in front just a minute earlier that he'd nail 1056 times out of 1057.

Melbourne. They were actually in the finals with half an hour to go in the season and were in the hunt from Rd1 to Rd23.

People get seduced by late season form but it's no guarantee of anything. Hawthorn are that good with finals mathematically on the line they lost to Carlton. Collingwood so good they lost more games than they won after the bye.

We went 8-1 last year after the bye then went out in the EF and scraped into the finals this year by a bee's dick. Richmond went 3-7 after their bye and missed the finals and are 3rd this year. St Kilda went 7-3, finished 9th and once again missed the finals this year.

Youd have to be disappointed Dogs didnt make it surely.
Absolutely. But realistically, never really looked like we deserved it for an entire game all year. Played well in a couple of patches, early few weeks and a brief patch towards the end. But never really clicked like we had in the past. Disappointing, wasted year in a lot of respects...

Onto next year for us now....
