I think what steaklth was referring to was that this loss may wake the club up. In that respect it could be a belssing in disguise.
I agree that it is better to win than lose at ANY time. Wiining breeds confidence. In other words success breeds success. But after having gone virtually unbeaten in 2000, there seems litle doubt that a slap in the face like the loss to Port could wake a few Bomber p-layers up, and make them think: "Hey, we need to keep our intensity at the same level it was last year".
Essendon is never going to reproduce 21 wins, so the "invinciblity" aura will disppapear anyway. But if the Bombers get back on track by round 1, and start winning by big margins again, then that very aura you were talking about will return.
But on Friday nights showing, there is a long, long way to go.
