Goddard, Wells, Ball or Jobe Watson not good enough to make the short list?

Dal Santo is clearly the best player from that group ahead of Griffen, McLean, Hodge and Cooney

Goddard? Of all the 250 voters in my sources thread, NOT ONE thought Goddard was the best.

Wells and Ball didn't recieve enough votes. Watson recieved... just one vote. Except form the four I put inm the midfielders all recieved nine votes.

Why would you put Egan, Lewis, Moloney, Fisher instead of Ball, Wells, Bartel and Ablett?

Because I posted them before, and no-one rated them, so no point asking whether people think Goddard is the best when people have told me not before. Whereas the four wildcards weren't in the last poll. Simple really.

1. Luke Hodge
2. Brock McLean
3. Brett Deledio

* Deledio, Franklin, Griffen etc. will improve with more experience

Wells? Average at best. At least Egan has potential, already averaging 15 touches and one goal per game.

2 bags of 6 goals is nowhere near what Deledio, Cooney, Dal Santo, Bartel, Stanton and even Swan (Players that have acquired fewer votes than Buddy in this poll) have achieved and doesn't come close to what stage these players are at. He may be a future star but is no comparison to these players and what they have already proved. Yes he has shown something but no he is not better than these players at this point in time.

ok i dont mind if people go "oh everyone over-rates franklin" but saying he hasnt done anything is fairly ignorant

comparing midfielders to tall forwards? oh that will always end up an accurate way in comparing players!

2 bags of 6 goals is nowhere near what Deledio, Cooney, Dal Santo, Bartel, Stanton and even Swan (Players that have acquired fewer votes than Buddy in this poll) have achieved and doesn't come close to what stage these players are at. Like what delirious said, you have compared Franklin to a bunch of midfielders . Can you tell me what Stanton has achieved that makes him so mindblowing. Seems to be in the Lewis mould, as a slow honest inside midfielder.

I was simply stating that these players (that happened to be midfielders) have all reached far greater heights than Buddy, take Dal Santo as a prime example, tell me he isn't more of a player at this stage than Franklin whilst trying to keep a straight face. Hell he's already a star of the competition, Franklin is not.

He has also been in the system for 3-4 more years....

If it was the best U23 Victorian prospect (which I thought it was when innitally reading the thread) Deledio and Franklin should win this poll by a street, but its not therefore I agree with MJ1.

1-2-3 year players in real terms stand no way of winnning these polls realistically.

I agree, he definitely is a star in the making just hasn't had the time yet unlike some of the other U23 players.
