Quarterbrain sucked as a commentator. All he did was repeat the player's name 3 times or call someone a star. Always found it to be shit.
Didn't mind BT and Bruce's call of the game. The moment makes the commentary for me. TBH I always found Huddo's "sequel" commentary pretty lame and obviously pre-prepared.
Yeah but repeating the players name 3 times doesn't take anything away from it. BT & Bruce just kept asking questions and BT starting everything with "Gee" if it doesn't have "Vennables has some skills" whats the point of it.

It doesn't, and it's great because of the moment for sure. Quarterbrain being in the moment and you can feel it. But that's all he did. Year before in the QF it was Sampi... Sampi... SAMPIIIII!!!!!!!! He did it all the damn time. Even earlier in the last quarter of the 06 GF, he did the "Schneider... Schneider..... SCHNEIDER!!!!".
BT's actually a good caller when he doesn't act like a twit. He calls the moment goals with some variety in his own way. Bruce is more of a rehasher but I think he did the build to the siren so well.
Gone for Sheed because I was there and he was cool as a cucumber going back to slot it while me and the old boy basically had our head in our hands shitting bricks (the jagged solid kind not the ones with holes in them). The celebration from the players and the crowd was absolutely epic.

Derm (of all people) made the point of looking at Sheed's non-kicking foot and how it didn't even leave the ground. The bloke was just perfectly poised.

He warmed up with the "sets sail" call in a previous Matera goal, too.
