This game was probably the main reason i bought a Wii.

We might see a record in game returns.

My bet is they'll lose more money than they'll get with all these returns :p.

I feel sorry for the shops like EB, KMart, Big W e.t.c who have to get all these refunds.

From the first list, I'll be getting or considering:

Zack and Wiki (critically acclaimed adventure game)*
No More Heroes (awesome looking game aimed at a mature audience)*
Possibly Bully and Battalion Wars 2
Pro Evo Soccer (looks amazing)*
Baroque depending on reviews
Possibly FF:CC (where is FF:CB ?)
DEFINITELY Fire Emblem*
Possibly Trauma Centre
Mario Kart Wii*
Fragile (although that release date seems waaaay off)*

Skimming through the second list:

Top Spin Tennis*
Red Steel 2 (don't expect it for a while)
Super Smash Brothers Brawl*
Okami*
Disaster: Day of Crisis*
Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers (can't wait - love my RPGs:D)*
Kid Icarus (which is no more than a rumour at this stage)*
Wii Fit
Guitar Hero 4

And not to mention, the sequel to the greatest game of all time:
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World (as I said, love RPGs :D)*
And also, Fatal Frame 4 - the newest title in arguably the scariest horror franchise in history

So that's 20+ games on my radar (+ some not mentioned on the list). I doubt if we'll see a large number of those before 09, but of that list, I would say 13 are definite purchases at this stage (*), depending on how well they turn out.

Don't get Guitar Hero 4, get Rock Band.

Rock Band has everything(Microphone, Guitar, Bass, Drums) comes out like 6 months before GH4.

I've been looking forward to this game since about 6 months ago.

Call of Duty 5
Please please please please please please!

The majority of the financial talk dealt with the company's two bread winners, Call of Duty and Guitar Hero. Another Call of Duty title was discussed to continue the series of annual releases. This does not necessarily mean that it will be titled Call of Duty 5 or that Infinity Ward will be working on it. In addition to the platforms Call of Duty 4 was released on, this next CoD game will come out on Wii and PS2.

I doubt that Infinity Ward will be directing it, which would be a shame given their COD games are superior.

I hope so badly that COD5 comes out on Wii, except I want it to be the same setting as COD4 but just on the Wii. That would be so great and a game that will hit record books on the wii.

Don't bother sending EA Australia an email about the problem, I sent an email and they sent one back saying they had moved so please click this link. It was a dead link so I went to a website and they said they got the same thing and a lot of people have been trying to contact them.

EA are the worst.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a possibility, reported by the developers.

AND:
Activision held their quarterly conference call yesterday and spilled the beans on what they have planned for 2008/early 2009.

The big news is that Tony Hawk is getting a huge makeover according to Mike Griffith, President and CEO of Activision Publishing:

Over the past six months, we’ve been working reengineer the Tony Hawk brand. We started with a deep dive evaluation of our approach to the genre and new trends in the videogame market. Then we conducted a significant amount of consumer research and testing to better understand the types of innovations that consumers want from this brand.

I guess this is what happens when you stop being the only game in town and a newcomer (in this case, EA's Skate) pulls in a crowd too.

Griffith also talked about the next entries in the Guitar Hero series (which should ship sometime between April and June) and made a few remarks about the series appearing on new platforms, "headlining" bands and new hardware innovations.

So, while cryptic, it certainly sounds like Guitar Hero for the DS and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith could become a reality. But the "hardware innovations" quote could mean anything, maybe "Drum Villain" (which Activision owns the trademark to) is closer than we think.

Finally, the company confirmed that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and a new Spider-Man game are coming this fall. They've also confirmed that Call of Duty 5 is coming to the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, DS, PS2 and Wii.

Here's the full list of what Activision has lined up for the rest of the year and into early 2009:

April - June 2008
# Kung Fu Panda (six platforms)
# 2 Guitar Hero Spinoffs

Fall 2008
# Call of Duty 5 (PS3, Xbox 360, DS, PC, PS2, Wii)
# Guitar Hero 4
# Next Tony Hawk
# Quantum of Solace (Bond 22)
# Madagascar: The Crate Escape
# Kung Fu Panda Followup
# Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
# Next Spider-Man

Early 2009
# Monsters Versus Aliens (Dreamworks Animation)
