09 EL for me

Want to mention the west coast fans that posted on here, Thanks your gracious comments are much appreciated and hope you guys do well in finals!

Definitely the best since the 09 final... The Gabba has been woefully devoid of atmosphere since- until yesterday that is. Hope it brings the punters back and there are a few more to come. 5 more home games for the season, it would be nice if we win them all and a few of them aren't even close... don't want to many of the old folks who have been following us so dependably dropping dead from heart attacks!

Best win since we went over to Subi and beat them under Leigh. We were major underdogs and when the siren sounded Lethal was the happiest chappy ever with the fist pumping and what not.

How good was it just then when Drummond launched his third monster goal, then Brown backed up seconds later then I think Green. We were almost out of it... And they fired the **** up.

Also.... Can't believe we managed to get a finger to their match winner on the line... While Polks returned fire to tip us over. Amazing. I'm hitting play on the replay.
I would agree with this:thumbsu:

Awesome win :)

Well done Rich and a awesome player!
Just awesome I had faith in the young troops.
Great win for Brown.

Now to have a awesome week!
Pumped thanks lions.

Best win since....Rd 10 - 2001

In 2001 the Brisbane Lions went into Round 10 with 3 wins and 6 losses. They defeated top of the table Essendon to begin a 16-0 run to claim their first of three consecutive premierships

In 2012 the Brisbane Lions went into Round 10 with 3 wins and 6 losses. They defeated top of the table West Coast.....................

Is the above accurate??

Close....but no cigar.

I'm 99.99% certain we were 4-5 going into that game against the Bombers.

13 in a row to finish the H&A season 17-5 (equal first but second on percentage)

Then the 3 Finals wins.....so your 16 in a row is correct.

09 Final was the last time we had a game like that. Crowd as equally awesome, and from only 15,500 sounded closer to 30,000.
Difference is apart from the West Coast fans and the few neutrals, everyone else there are genuine Lions fans. How many of the 32,000 from the Carlton EF were bandwagoners/causal fans?

Since we bet Port in Adelaide in the wet after being 41 down in the last
The second half was the only Lions half I've missed completely since 2005  (not by choice either).

It's tough to say. I was lucky (or clever) enough to go up for the '09 final, and the '10 Collingwood game... and the feeling, the atmosphere at those games, I will never forget. Though I was watching the WC game from my loungeroom, so it's hard to tell... the feeling was all the same, though.

I think the '09 final takes the cake for mine, simply due to the fact it was a final (and our first one in 5 years), it was Carlton, and we truly came back from being dead and buried that night.

But at the same time, I think when it comes to win like these, it's impossible to say one is definitively better than the others- they are all simply too massive, too important, to choose between.

In a lot of ways I preferred this one. It was something special for the diehard fans to remember, whether they were there or watching it at home. In some ways I find it comforting to know that at our weakest moments the Brisbane Lions will still have 15,000 supporters that will be there week in week out. Any number on top of that is completely reflected by ladder position.
