Generally happens when you're beyond gassed. May was huge all night as was Lever but Mckay simply being a tall dopey peanut in the general vicinity of Curnow allows him a far better chance than when its Charlie and 5 smalls.
Yes, I agree. McKay is a must. Even though his form has been pretty terrible this season, him just being in the forward line will demand that one of Brisbane's tall defenders picks him up and it will take some of the heat off Curnow.

But this is also the way of modern finals. The key forwards often struggle to kick bags against the AFL's best defences in locked-down, high-pressure finals. It's more about how hard they compete and how they open things up for the smaller forwards around them

There’s also little insult in being beaten by May one on one. Guy is a champion defender and because he wears his heart on his sleeve, people tend to not like him and think he’s a lesser player than he actually is.

Curnow beaten but not disgraced. Still the premier key forward in the comp.

May was incredible. Watched the replay this morning and behind Walsh I had him BOG. Was immense down back defensively and offensively.

Harry's form has not been terrible this year.
His goal kicking hasn't been great, but he's played really well apart from that.

Well this post is way too logical.

Seems some on here want to pass of Curnow as a spud whenever he doesn't kick a bag, it's quite odd, most other key forwards in the league don't get that scrutiny.

And if he has another quiet day next week he’ll be tagged as a finals choker. Also ridiculous.

Very difficult for key forwards to kick bags week after week, especially at Charlie’s level where hours of planning would go into stopping him.

Carlton has done better without McKay ?
Sanity will prevail.
Harry plays if fit, more headaches for Brissy back half, and he'll be instructed to handball more.

Much more.
