---- RANK THE BEST AND WORST BOOKMAKERS ----

On here people can post 2 lists to rank the best and worst of bookmakers.
I understand that this will mean different things to different punters. Eg, Pro's might appreciate high limits and good live betting services. Recreational punters might want bonus bets and a smoother UI. However we'll just go with whatever works for everyone and hopefully end up with something that punters looking to sign up can use as a piece of consumer power. I'll collate the results in a few months.
We'll go with a list of the best 3 and the worst 3.
Try not to post rants or reviews to make it easier for me. You can do that here: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/betting-websites-free-and-bonus-betting-offers.983911/

Exchanges and brokers don't count.
I'll go first.

BEST:
1. Topsport
2. BudgetBet
3. TAB

WORST:
1. ActionBet
2. UniBet
3. PalmerBet

I Tried not to pick on the micro's cos they're mostly the same, heavily restrictive with limited markets.

Of my overall 12 accounts including international accounts (that my family has access in Australia ):
1. Sportsbet
2. Smarkets Betting Exchange
3. TAB
4. PointsBet
5. TopSport
6. Ladbrokes
7. Neds
8. New Zealand TAB
9. Unibet
10. Bet 365 (been banned by them)
11. Betfair
12. Palmerbet
13. Bluebet

Palmerbet have terrible betting options and for their 'Specials 'markets for the cricket they just carbon copy all of their markets. Palmerbet are too lazy to create their own markets so have to copy exactly what Sportsbet do. Eg their Brownlow odds were exactly the same for group winners and novelties etc

Bluebet are a cheap NSW bookie who don’t like me. I hardLy won anything from the, but banned me because I didnt use their account for a specific amount of time.

I forgot betdeluxe, their probably round up the bottom 3 for me as their margins aren’t that good.

1. Sportsbet
2. Smarkets Betting Exchange
3. TAB
4. PointsBet
5. TopSport
6. Ladbrokes
7. Neds
8. New Zealand TAB
9. Unibet
10. Bet 365 (been banned by them)
11. Betfair
12. Betdeluxe
13. Palmerbet
14. Bluebet

I also don’t remember receiving a betdeluxe promo of late.

Some of you guys might be wondering why I rate Betfair lowly, the customer service and dealing with their people in the past has been a bad experience for me.

The product and the value you get on exchanges is good and having the ability to pick and match the odds that you want is an important aspect of betting. You don’t want to short change yourself on winners, as long-term it all counts.

Having used the 4 betting exchanges ( Betdaq, SMarkets, Betfair, Matchbook) in the past all of them have the option to cash out during a game. The cash out on the exchanges probably works to be better value most of the times over sportsbooks.

People may laugh at me when I say this but I think Australia needs a 2nd betting exchange in competition to only the Betfair model. The supply v demand side of things with the potential to attract international clients would be a good leveller in a fairly tight industry.

Surprised EliteBet not mentioned as yet. Not one of mine now but were quite solid when I was with them. Good MB2/3 promos, have boosts and rewards.

Biggest advantage was they scrape odds from TS so prices are competitive.

Not sure how they go now.

Good ones
TAB
Topsport
Lads
Sports
any oncourse bookmaker

Betfair doesn't count, and not a huge fan but most of my turnover is there.

Ones that make it difficult that I would never recommend to anyone
Palmerbet
Neds
Bluebet
Betdeluxe

365/points/Uni not great but big enough to get by on MBLs

I’ve never understood why people cash out. Why put the bet on in the first place?

Well think about it like this, if your 100/1 , was say a serve away from winning a grand slam but you know that there would likely to be nerves, for some people hedging their bets on an alternate option at around $8.00 or so would give them a green -green profit.

eg

Player A: $10 x $100.00 (odds)= $1000
Player B: $20 x $8.00 (odds)= $160

it reduces the risk of liability and gives you a profit on either player getting up.

I am of your view as well, I prefer to ride a bet out then cash out. Although there is a time and place for it.

Laying off is fine so long as it's not -EV

Plenty of times things shorten too much to the point they are now a lay bet or the value doesn't change at all but you just want to reduce variance

Because the bet was placed to take advantage of the fact Novak was in the market as a 6/4 fave

Depends on what you use the exchange for, but for horse racing pre-jump and in play this could not be further from the truth
Im not a horse racing punter but from what I have heard scratching and deductions on the exchange make it very unworthwhile to place bet on there? (Betfair that is)

Why would it be unappealing if not that reason?

Why would it be unappealing if not that reason?

Because there is not enough money available to place a decent bet until 30 minutes before the race

As per above the greatest constraint for any exchange is liquidity. Aus hardly has enough to support 1 exchange much less 4

Sorry I probably wasn’t clear what I meant was I don’t understand anyone who cashes out before the last leg of a multi has started.
