So I just contacted WH about some bonus bets. I was getting confused about the returns on an each way horse bet when the place hits.

So I had $10 each way on a horse that came second. 2nd place return was $2.5. So i'm expecting that I get $15 back as the bonus bet stake is not returned. They let me know that I only get $5 because they take back both bonus bet ie the win bonus bet as well. Of course if I had of known this I would have placed a separate bet for the win and for a place.

Seems dodgy - is this commonplace with bonus bets?

Seems weird how you can deduct the bonus bet for the part of the bet that lost. Nevermind in future i'll just do the win and place bets separate and avoid this sort of double dipping in future.
So what you're saying is, it's weird they didn't give you your bonus bet back after it lost?

Every bookmaker would go in to liquidation within one month if they refunded bets every time their customers had a loss. Effectively, this is what you were expecting. So they keep refunding your bet until you back a winner?

Your previous post mentioned it seems dodgy. I'm not sure if you're taking the piss, or if you're actually pissed.

You said so yourself within the first sentence of your previous post that you were getting confused. Your post should have ended there, but instead you go on to prove to us why you were confused (and clearly still are).

He is treating the $10 each way bets as two bonus bets - ie $10 on the win and $10 on the place so doesnt think the bonus money should be pooled when it comes to payouts. I dont agree i think William Hill have resulted it correctly, but its not a ridiculous question to ask

Sorry, I didn't really take time to read the entire post. I just quoted the part where he said it seems weird they deducted the bonus bet for the losing bet. It is correct that they did that.

What he should have done is placed $10 on the win, and a separate $10 bet on the place. I have made that mistake before by placing an each way bonus bet. One of the silliest things you can do if you understand the maths bookies use to deduct bonus bets.

Yes, it's stupid, but it's how they treat each way bonus bets.

I saw a advert(can't remember where, maybe on the website) for Madbookie a couple of days ago stating they were going to pick one event every day and guarantee to offer the best odds of all the corps. They had it for the BBL final but under a specialised menu header, since then I haven't seen another one. Anyone else see it or did they just get pumped after the first offer and pull the pin...

*edit I found it http://www.madbookie.com.au/MadLays
Maybe im just not checking early enough

Think we've all learnt the hard way. Boxed about 6 up for a quinella with a $20 bonus bet. When the dividend was less than $15 i got nothing back for a winning bet. Always place ew and exotics bet individually from then on

Boxing 6 horses in a quinella surely the greater of the two evils in this example.

You didn't take the time to read the entire post, but then took the time to have a crack at me about the contents of the post that you didn't read?

I consider that an e/w bet on a horse is two bets ie for the the win and for the place. It is placed at the same time for convenience by being able to tick the e/w box. If the win bet loses fine the bonus bet loses, but I considered it dodgy to "double dip" and deduct the bonus bet that has already lost from a winning place bet.

I am pretty familiar with all the bookies, promo's and BB's but had no idea why the payouts weren't as expected.

It's easily fixable by placing separate bets which I would have done if made aware.

This is a long shot but would anyone have a list of previous sports odds for AFL from previous years?

I’m trying to put together a excel spreadsheet with multiple betting companies odds.

Any advice is appreciated

You will struggle to find flucs for each corporate but aussportsbetting has SP, high and lows available. Not for each book from memory but the market as a whole.

So i clicked on a promo banner on the Bluebet website that went through to another promo banner which states cash back on races 1-4 at Rosehill. So I place some bets and 2 horses come second, but I get no cash back. Apparently only people that were emailed were eligible for the offer. How on earth would I know this? I think they might have made an error. Anyhow they won't refund - terms and conditions blah blah and gave me a bonus bet.

Crown have also been offering promo's with rewards points. So instead of getting rewards points of late i'm getting bonus bets. Customer service says that if i'm on the phone the promo's will state BB's yet on the laptop it says rewards points. So they won't give me RP's even though it clearly states that on the promo.

So can bookies basically do anything and then point to the T & C's as an out?

Ok so was wondering if anyone can help i have a 27.50 bonus bet to use on SB, but for some reason if i try and back a horse it comes up with this, Stake Error: Some of your bets exceed the max bet size. Please review, then press bet and Confirm.

Sportsbet been a pain for me i had 1 horse bet and 5 soccer bets on weekend then get a email saying We’re writing to let you know that we’ve made an update to your account following improper use of Sportsbet’s promotions. Therefore, while we’re happy to honour any promotions on your existing bets, your account will no longer be eligible for Sportsbet promotions going forward.

so i was assuming the 2 bonus bets i have which is 27.50 and another one i could use.
There is a little icon on the bet slip you can click for more information and it will give you a guide to what your maximum bet limit will be.
