Anyone else get this sportsbet promo today via email? Place a $100 win or ew bet on the melbourne cup till 8th october and everytime #1 wins on guineas day, cox plate day, caulfield cup day and melbourne cup day get a $20 free bet. Seems pretty good, just need to find a horse that is a good shout of making it to the cup
Yeah I got that, different amounts but same ratio.

I had a look at some data over the last ten years or so and it seems on average #1 got up 5 times. It does vary a lot though from I think one to ten times. So an ok promo so long as you don't get too far unders on the bet.

The wording if the promo is interesting, they say any race on that day (e.g. Cox Plate day) , not that meeting. Assume they mean only the meeting and arguing otherwise would see you get banned

I closed my account by choice, if they cut off all promotions, I just told em to close the account and withdrew all by coin from them. I can still bet with them, just not take advantage of any of their promotions.......
if they cut you off from promos cos they think you'll take money off them, closing your account there doesn't "show them" anything except that cutting "undesirable" punters off promos works

How about telling them you will strictly be betting with their competitor?

Basically, they cut you off if you are winning too much from them regardless of promos or not, the first step is to cut you off promos, then second is to limit your bets or amount you can win. Really it is pretty poor form I think from these corporates considering the small amount I would be taking from.

They offer promotions so you expect to be able to take advantage of them like any other punter, then because you win a few times from them they cut you off, just piss weak...

If you only use a bookie for their promos then its perfectly acceptable for them to cut you off from them anyway imo. They are not in the business of just giving away free money. Presumably thats all you were doing if you are happy to just chuck the towel in on an account because you cant use the promos

In my case I use SB daily on stupid mug type bets + their offers, had 1 or 2 good weeks then bam, banned.

When you have so many competitors to choose from, you use the ones that take care of you. Honestly, I don't even think I was up from Promo bets on SB.

Do you think the large supermarket chains would get away with stopping people from buying their sale items because that's all they buy?

I certainly wasn't only using them for their promos, and turnover from no promo bets would have been much higher then my promo bets, so if they don't want the business that's fine, there is a lot of competition out there atm so I will just take my money elsewhere. If they offer promos the you should be able to punt them, I have no doubt if you solely punted the promos and lost you wouldn't be banned........

Well the supermarket makes money regardless so they wouldnt gaf. I hate the argument people make comparing a bookmaker to some sort of shopping centre

I hate the argument where people say its free money. Its not unless you manipulate it, and any bet where the odds swing in your favour can be turned into free money.
