From reports, and watching the game against the pussies, Betts looks to be out of sorts. Dosent know what is going, cant find the ball, position or targets. When he does get it, things are woeful. Is this a symptom of the over-coach that has been mumbled about, the who cares pre-season, or is Eddie struggling?

The geelong game didnt see him playing that deep, wiered really, becuase there were a lot of bombs into the forward line.......

your thoughts.

Started last 2 games in the midfield/ centre square but had no impact. 4 possessions against Cats. Not sure about last week but probably similar. Spent a lot of time on the bench. I don't think he can play midfield.

Has done very little in 2 games so far this year. I'm not quite sure where he fits into our plans long term as he appears to be a one position player in the Matera and Milne mould.

Would like to see his attitude improve, as he appears to be a very laconic type person.

Take it easy fellas the boys only 19, like i said in a previous post Eddie just needs to slow down a bit, instead of trying to gather the ball at full speed all the time he needs to slow down when trying to get the ball and then use his pace to accelerate away once he has possesion instead of the other way around, also just needs time to learn how to read the ball off the ruckmans hands and position himself for the gather or to recieve the quick handball out of the pack, needs to work in space where he can use his pace ala Aaron Davies to make more space for himself so he has time to use the ball effectively instead of working in close where he gets tackled as soon as he takes possession which is a waist of his best attribute SPEED. Give him time:thumbsu:

Betts might be young, but his not a long term player. He will have to work bloody hard and do a lot of great things to get playing for Carlton in 3 years time.

ok Mojo ..time for you to get to work and kick Brilliant Pies / cassius crap back to the filth board where he belongs .....don't kick him too hard because he has dental issues and we don't want any more of his baby teeth falling out :D

Audus if you are really a Carlton suporter why are you starting all these anti Carlton threads ?
Your thread on the main board is a disgrace and you need to either support the club fully or ******** off and stop putting them down every chance you get

lol . . . that was actually funny Surrey

Really, of all the problems at Carlton at the moment is Betts that much of a problem? I'd hardly think so.

I can undestand Carlton's need for a quick onballer and it's certainly worth trying him in the role (it is preseason), but with the amount of talls on Carltons forward line a first class crumber is a must.

I really don't see the problem if Betts is currently a one position player.

Eddie is getting an education up ground.
This will prepare him for the poundings later on at the big time
He a skfullful opportunist, great footy brain and anticipation and belongs in the goasl area.
Eddie will score heaps of goals with the right structure .
Things have to settle down thats all and may take a few years yet.
He is a natural footballer with class. :thumbsu:

Doubt betts will last long, I didn't think anyone thought he was a long term player. At least he provides some excitement and it's not as if we really gave anything up to get him. Who knows he might improve, there's plenty of time.

Flat out GO AND GET STUFFED !

I have never seen a more pathetic ignorant post in my life. A blatant troll. There is NOTHING wrong with this post what-so-ever. NOTHING. So ******** off. Secondly my post on the main board as ia joke, its funny. I am THE most one eyed of the blue faithful so some humility is more than allowed, hence the photo. And thirdly why not take the time to have a look at my posts to see where my loyalites lie. What my support for carlton is like, how effervesant my optimism and support for the blues is. And when you have done that you can come back here and post your apology.

All you do is critisize the thoughts and ideas of others without ever offering any contribution in return. You appear to be some self appointed moralistic arbitrator yet clearly lack the intellectual, ethical fortitude to back this up. You are hand wringer of the highest order.

Stop wandering around these boards instructing everyone on their short comings and vices and realise that you are a petty antagonist with more issues than box of kleenex.

Take the keys to the rooom of mirrors and have a good hard look at yourself.

Insinuating that any questioning of carlton players or status is anti-carlton and telling those who do raise any questions to ******** off is borderline fascist.

You are a disgrace.

I think Betts is one of the many who Pagain cannot reach. I feel that Denis judges heavily and then pressures the passion and confidence out of many players. I think he works more on fear than positive instruction these days. As a result many creative players feel restricted and play without instinct. Even Kouta looks restricted to me at times.

Was electrifying tonight. Made something out of nothing with 3 goals.
It would be fair to say that he has done that a couple of times, last season, turned it on.

That's what his in the team for.

However, the question is can he do it consistently?

In time definetely, this is only his second year and IMO he has done a good job in his first year and will be even better this year so just hang on and enjoy the ride that will be "Better Better Betts", if nothing else he adds excitement to a side that is playing unexciting footy at the moment. Hey betta betta hey betta betta hey betta betta Betts.:thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:
