COLLINGWOOD midfielder Luke Ball says he and his teammates need to be wary of allowing bad habits to creep in during the AFL pre-season.

The midfielder said the Magpies were beaten by a Melbourne outfit which was hungrier to win on Saturday night at Etihad Stadium.

While winning pre-season matches and defending last year's pre-season premiership were not high priorities, Ball said that was no excuse for performances below full intensity.

So Ball Agrees with Blessed

Maybe Blessed is Luke Ball.:p

You wouldn't expect anything else to come out of Luke Ball, he's the type of player that demands high intensity and attack on the ball, and he hates losing, more so then just about anyone else.

The problem with such a lackluster effort against the Dees last night is we may over react and play too hard next week, when the season is still 3 weeks away (from next Friday Night).

No need to throw the baby out with the bath water yet.

Well Ball does have a point as that Intestinty can creep into early in the Season Proper but also don't need to go over the top next week but needs to be Lifted

Round 1 will be the acid test.

On one hand you can understand saving yourself through the NAB Cup, especially in light of last year when we appeared to run out of legs at the business end ( though also injuries/suspensions took their toll as well )

But, as Luke Ball ( and Blessed ) have been pointing out it's also about habits and being instinctive and it's not unreasonable IMO to say our intensity last year was not at the same level as 2010.

If we play at 100% intensity we'd be very hard to beat, but if not, we may well be quickly caught by the rest of the field.
