Some people are talking about how good it feels beating the Dockers, a win in Melbourne and "three wins in a row" but the truth is, only two of these things happened. We haven't won three games in a row yet and I'd like us to exercise all the possible caution against Geelong. They have nothing to lose and if we don't take them seriously, we may lose the game. In Wooshas's place I would prepare the players as if we were playing Brisbane. Less than that is inviting a bad outcome. Seasons are often made in games like this. If the so called better team loses the game, it may also lose the momentum and confidence and suddenly a season that looked so promising becomes a nightmare. There are no easy games and we must show respect for Geelong! I have this feeling they won't be an easy beat.

Seriously, Geelong have no chance. None.
That's what I think, that's what everyone thinks, so thats why it becomes a danger game. We must respect Geelong and go in with the right mindset to make sure we get this game. And there is no reason why we shouldnt win the game. Geelong are dead last, we are 3rd and are almost unbeatable at home. I would accept losing to Adelaide, Port or Brissie at home...but not Geelong. I just hope WC dont go to sleep thinking that they will win the game by simply turning up.

As a Dockers supporter you are more entitled to say that than an Eagles fan, perhaps in the hope that, we go to sleep. ;) It's exactly against that over optimistic attitude that I am advising caution. Last year when we played against Brisbane over here in Perth, a Lions fan also said "West Coast have no chance. None". And you know what happened. Having said that, I expect the Eagles to beat Geelong but that doesn't mean the four points are already in the bag.

Yes while i am VERY confident of a win i am cautious, dont want to get too far ahead as a loss to Geelong at home almost nullifies our win away last week. we need THIS win almost as much as the last away win just to solidify the result, plus putting us 5-2 a VERY healthy percentage, what a spot to go into the remainding 15 rounds where we play every team once.

Must Win, Should win CARN EAGLES!

I thought Geelong were pretty good against Brisbane and will be a danger no doubt. However, if we just hold our current form at home we should beat them.

yeah for sure, they were hardly thrashed. 14 points is very admirable, especially against the lions

I was reading an article in the HS the other day which mentioned that King had tapped to Corey's advantage 17 times this season to R5, versus 16 for Gardiner - Cousins, 15 for Gardiner - Fletcher and 11 for Gardiner - Judd.

While Gardiner appears from that to be the best overall performer, Geelong certainly isn't to be underestimated.

Before last years loss to Freo, Geelong had won in it's previous four trips to Subiaco, and overall they have beaten us the last 5 times we have played them. On current form, it should be a flogging, but Woosha better make sure everyone has their digit extracted on the day. An away win is wasted if we can't back it up at home.

Tempting to put $100 on the eagles to win by +39.5 pts, could probably get $2.20 for that

Eagles are paying $1.35 for a win, seems sh*t? Ask a stock trader if he'd take a 35% profit over 2 yrs... let alone 3hrs.

Eagles in an easy win. If the eagles are complacent they might be held to a 5 goal win.

I agree. While we have defeated Geelong twice in the biggest games of the year, they have had the edge on us over the end of the Malthouse era and during the Judge days.

Geelong looked the goods against Brisbane too - It won't be a walkover like St Kilda was a few weeks ago.

Here's the Geelong point of view...

Round 7 - West Coast vs Geelong

We have a pretty good record at Subiaco and have beaten the Eagles comfortably there the last 2 times we've travelled across the Nullabor by a combined total of 100 points.

Dont get me wrong, it would be a huge upset if we actually beat you guys this week, but you never know if you give yourself a chance and have a red hot go.

Add to that it will be my first time going to Perth, can't wait!!

Go Cats!!

To be creative I will serve up so to speak this analagy.

In tennis, when you break your opponents serve, you are in a good position. But it isnt really a break of serve until you win your serve.

Get where Im going with this....we must beat Geelong at home or the away win against Melbourne means precisely nothing!

I'm sure you'll enjoy Perth - the weather has been very kind over the last week so it should be good conditions on Saturday.
