Here is were we are at:

Warlpiri Wizard: $50
Deestroy: $50
Buddah117: $50
Deefolt: $50-200
Wise Guy Sam: $50
Oscarman: $25-50
dcrock: $50
RandB: $100
Stretcharmstrong: $50-100
Bartram Class: $100
Footy: $25-?
Biffinator: $25
Sivart: $100-250
Crimson Azure: $25

I everyone was to put in their minimum ammount then we are at:

$750
Still required: $350

If everyone put in their max we are at:

$1125
Over by: $25

So I guess we need to get exact amounts of what people are willing to offer then we can see who else might get a chance to get in.

Should it be capped at $100 to allow more to be part of this if others offer to come in?

Great response so far. Once we reach the figure with everyone's minimum I will contact the club to see if we can get in early to sponsor a player for next year, and if so what the price/deal will be for then.

What other boards do with excess money is either save towards an extra player, save towards a more expensive option or add that money to the next years sponsorship (so with extra money from next year added to money from the year after we might be able to afford a higher level deal).

I prefer the last option as it allows people to join up even after we have reached the goal. No need to cap the amount people donate, the more the better. (We could simply have a cut off date to be eligible for prizes and however many $25 amounts there are then would be the size of the draw).

(Edit: I'm also looking into getting a contribution, $200, from Bigfooty)

Can we get Joel Mac, who really should be a cult player as he is the first of many players who chose us over another club when he got the choice (he had the choice of kangas richmond and melbourne)

I'd put in 50 say. How are we paying? I don't have a credit card or paypal or anything, or even a cheque account.

Could I just send $50 in the mail to whoever organises it?

I wouldn't do that.

2 options I guess.

1) Bank Transfer if you trust Deestroy
2) Money order

Oh & 3:

3) Send me $100 & I'll send $50 via paypal to bigfooty. ;)

RandB - I am already paying for four other memberships but count me in for $25
Yeah, didn't think of that mate (oops), glad you're in though. :thumbsu:

:thumbsu: to this.

Would be nice to get on-board someone for years on end. With hopefully new members jumping on board, we could even hope to jump up to the next couple of sponsorship levels.

One hopes, it would be good reading a player and seeing Melbourne BigFooty team on all levels :) Would be expensive but enough people...

I'm looking at using Paypal as it seemed pretty safe when I used it for BF membership a couple of years ago. I'm looking at putting in $50 at this stage (not $100) but if we're struggling I'll up it to $100.

Not sure if BF get charged a sellers fee or not so perhaps if we transfer to you Deestroy in a personal transfer?

Paypal and bank transfer would both be available. Bank transfer preferred as there would be no fees. I'm hoping to have this set up through a Bigfooty online payment page, but would also provide bank details seperately for those who don't trust/use internet banking.

Anyway I will look more into this a bit further down the line, keep the pledges coming.

This sounds like a great idea :) Especially if we target a draftee or young player from interstate.

I wouldn't be able to chip in as a 15 year old, mum would never allow it! But it'd be a great way for the Melbourne board to really get behind our club hopefully during a few good years on and off field.

hahahha and you say a young player lol, a "young player" will be your senior lol.

But none the less, I agree with your sentiments, A youngster or a traded, hence wanting Joel Mac

BS would support Jack Watts.

Haha, I can tell you it stung when three 15 year olds were at the winter Olympics for Australia this year.
