For sure, but abuse is not needed.
Honestly though?

Plenty of trolls require the correct amount of abuse.
This board has seen it's share over the years.

Threatening to drag a poster out the back and give them a good flogging really has little danger attached here online.

I rarely see anything on BF which even approaches bullying, shaming etc and the small percentage i have seen results in swift perma banning thanks to our great mods.
.
As social media goes these forums are pretty tame.

TBF, the same could be said for posters.
Some are happy to engage AND report the other poster.
Some are not offended by certain language when are others are.
Some choose to report a post on behalf of the recipient.
Some just engage with no end in sight.
Only some of the abusive posts are brought to our attention.
That probably sums it up ;)

So the squeeky wheel get the grease approach.

btw anyone calls me a ponylover we will throw hooves just sayin

The funny thing is that many a post "reads" as abusive when considered solely as text on page.
It is impossible to pick up the nuances, such as sarcasm, cheekiness a bit of baiting etc that is second nature face to face.

I guess it's down to how one interprets the posts they read.

True.
I have read posts and thought """Whoa! Holy F**K.
Then re-read them, in context with the accompanying posts, (usually quoted) and they are fine, sometimes even hilarious.
Dave (TD) is a perfect example.
Many new posters misread what Dave posts because they do not know him, his posting style or his spectacular love of the Pies.

Really?

Actually it’s adorable that you believe that there’s no negotiation afoot - at a minimum we know GWS is interested.
It’s adorable that you think that this competitive tension has no impact on the final deal.
And it’s adorable that you are blissfully intransigent, that behind the scenes negotiations will ensure Coll and GWS don’t get a rock bottom price for Oliver, and if Oliver chooses one over the other it’s because his manager believes a deal can be done ie a deal has been prequalified.

It’s always adorable debating with you, and I find your simplistic view of the commercial world charming.
It’s adorable that you can keep coming up with such nonsense whilst ignoring the precedents that happen pretty much every year in regards to player movement.

The final outcome ignores the obvious pre deal negotiations. Houston wanted Carlton he got Coll.
Kelly wanted WC, and WC paid through the nose.
This idea that GWS are going to roll over without making an offer Coll will have to beat ( or vis versa ), to get Oliver is patently absurd. It’s won’t be public, but I guarantee that when he chooses a Club, it’s because they have the best opening offer.

Whether there’s any improvement in that opening offer is debatable- but I doubt it, because Melb has made it’s bed.

That’s where the take it or leave occurs.

It’s simple negotiation strategy, and I honestly want to give you an out as being obstinate, rather than naive.

Carlton had more than enough trade collateral, they didn’t have the cap room for him and never made an offer. North were also offering significntly more than we could, yet has no influence on what we paid because he didn’t want to go there. I don’t even know why you’d use Kelly as an example because no other team was in the picture.

You keep rolling with that headcanon of yours, it’s hilarious to watch.

All you have done is proven my point - ie there are negotiations in the background that have impact on the final outcome, involving more than the Club that’s the players preferred designation.
And even where a player or Club digs their heels a compromise is reached.

The idea that a “take it or leave it, first and final offer”, for Oliver, by GWS or Coll gets the deal done is ridiculous.
Trade week would last 2 days without the swinging pendulum of offer and counter offer.

Anyway I can’t keep repeating myself.

This Sunday, Funday at the BF Arena, see two titans of the pugilistic arts throw DOOOOOWN.

You'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only need the EDGE.
