Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

Only way for you to claim last place is if I get a game ahead of you because I suck so bad at Pts For.
You're in a similar position to Mizza, in that you have McFadden as your 1st round keeper (Mizza has Brady). After all that dealing last year, you're not considering chucking him back in the pool are you?

Im not one to reveal my strategies, but **** it. I'll be open i dont care.

The idea would be that depending on how things turn out, where my draft order is, then I might keep someone else (no names) and re-draft McFadden in the first round. If i can wing it somehow. Maybe some other trades if I have to. But otherwise, i would probably have to keep McFadden so that none of you heathens draft him instead.

it'd be a no risk strategy IF you had the #1 draft pick.

The way the Svengali are going lately, I might end up with the #1 draft pick! I'll gladly chuck MacGhee back into the pool, he's an injury prone hack...

Well i wont be playing for the #1 pick. There's no honor in coming last. Or sucking. I will fight all the way to teabag the remaining teams on my schedule. Maybe even force a 5-8 tie between me, JD, and woodson (even tho I wont be ahead of them) just to rub it in that i finished on equal W-L. Same goes with the Western division that youre in. All the teams are like 5-6 so i aim to try to finish above or equal with as many of you. That includes also Dspeed who at 4-7 would be great to finish above him and have a reason to haha at him (in a friendly way).

Then you can glady take Laurence Moroney with your first rounder. I'm thinking I'll be generous and I'll let the super stud free.

Dspeed, and others..

You know, there's a way where the playoff structure can be changed for next season that doesnt rort a team missing out on the playoffs.

Currently, we have 2 division winners per conference, and 1 WC per conference. Which means the first week of playoffs involves the top team having a bye. All done to fit inside 3 playoff weeks (finish on week 16).

But you can achieve the same by having it....
2 division winners per conference and 2 WCs per conference.
Week 1: 1v4, 2v3
Week 2: Losers eliminated, the two winners in conference championship.
Week 3: Superbowl.

This would add a little more interest in the WC race too.

Thoughts?

No, simply because i dont like a system where half of the teams get a playoff birth, leaves to much up to chance IMO, a team that is only the 8th best team IMO does not deserve the chance to fluke a couple of weeks and win the championship when a team who finished 1st or 2nd performed much better over the course of the season. I think 6/16 is a fair number, personally dont like 8/16

Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

Well done Manu, gets me a win clear @ the top of the division again.

How about that score from Brasher. SENSATIONAL!!!
And he left points on the bench with Matt Cassel.

Interesting keeper decision coming up for Brasher with Cassel BTW.

Yeah the Bailjumpers might finally be coming out of their slump. Short of a major MNF effort from GG (no teabagging this year) I think I've also clinched the first round playoff bye.

Moss, Forte, Romo even Williams all to be seriously considered as keepers.

Cassel (as un undrafted FA) will be under serious consideration but it will depend on where he ends up this off season. Not much value if he ends up backing up Brady again.

Might be a few Bailjumpers up for pre draft trading this year.

Good win dspeed. That hurts alot. Nearly got there, just needed Addai to be on when Rhodes got those 3 oppurtunities to get the TD. Luckily Sven is gonna lose so remain .5 game back. No chance really to make the playoffs now though. Dont deserve to either with my shit side.

If only I kept Welker instead of Bryant/Mason/Chambers

SO I need 38 odd points from 3 players???

Not really counting B.Jackson as he's a backup who might pick up a point or two... might get close, but I think I'd need Duke to get in for a couple of TDs... stranger things have happened though...

Without being able to check, I would say I got up against you fuey, which means a MASSIVE week in our dominant division coming up. Wiz sits 9-3 and we are both 8-4 from memory. Someone could miss out with a 9-4 record. If I win and you beat a downtrodden Mizza we will all finish 9-4. Would be heartbreaking to miss with that record.

Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

This was the Pts For before this week....

Wizards Warriors---1045
Fuey's Haze---793
Manureid's Raidaaahs---880

This is what it'll look like after today....

Wizard....9-3....1109
Manureid....8-4....971
Fuey.....8-4.....842

The only other team who MIGHT have a chance at a WC from your conference is Vick, with a record right now of 7-5 and Pts For of 979 (after a whopping 120 score this week).

If Wizard beats Manureid and Mizza beats Fuey, and Vick beats Mordikai, you'd all finish 8-5 and it would probably come down to Manureid and Vick for the WC spot as they're both on 971-979 pts for right now.

The only way Fuey has a chance is if Wizard beats Manureid and Mordikai beats Vick.
