Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

The new rule using your example would be:-

Zarko gets: 2nd round pick
Brasher gets: Romo.

No 5th pick required. Brasher giving his 2nd to you IS him already forfeiting the pick he has to forfeit to keep Romo. Because Romo's value rose to a 2nd rounder, then that's Romo's new keeper value.

No, its not like that at all, the new rule.

Lets say this trade was to go through.

Portis to gg for a 2nd round pick.

gg gets: Portis
Wizard gets: 2nd round pick

Done deal, you have to have him as a keeper but dont need to use another pick to keep him as you already used your 2nd to get him.

Its that easy, correct?

Zarko...

The change in value is important. And the LM has authority on this.

All trades have to go thru the LM anyway, so at the time when Dspeed gets an email about a trade gone thru, he can veto it at the time if he feels the keeper value being negotiated is way too high or way too low, or if there's something fishy going on etc.

That's correct. Very easy.
But there are more complex trade deals that I could give, where there's more explaining needed to detail how the rules apply, etc.

Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

Because I'm bored and to get this off-season spinning I'll pubkish a market here of opening prices for potential trades from the two time BFFFL Super Bowl Bailjumpers....

Matt Cassell - 3rd Rounder
Matt Forte - 1st under
Deangelo Williams - 1st Rounder
Randy Moss - 1st Rounder
Chris Cooley - 5th Rounder
Bears or Dolphins D/ST - 10th Rounder
Le'Ron McClain - 5th Rounder
Bo Scaife - 12th Rounder

Tony Romo - Connex Rail Pass on any 40 degree Melbourne day

The rest....well they'll get redrafted for less then what anyone would realisitically offer anyway.

Matt Cassell - 3rd Rounder
If he gets traded surely you will keep him?

Depends where to Wiz....everyone is tradable for the right price.

As someone else said, maybe Brady gets traded...either way, a 3rd rounder for Cassell is an interesting punt for someone willing to pull the trigger.

Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

realistically, these are the only keeper-potentials you're offering...

Matt Forte - 1st Rounder (but his workload to decrease a lot in 09)
Deangelo Williams - 1st Rounder (RBBC tho)
Randy Moss - 1st Rounder (big numbers might not come his way in 09)

The rest are not worth losing a keeper spot over.
And with the Cassel/Brady uncertainty right now, no one would be willing to take a punt on Cassel......yet.

Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

Personally I hold being top of the waiver order as more valuable then any pick after you've named keepers or drafted to fill out your starters.

Trading is all relative....trade for a top ten TE in Cooley that costs you a 10th rounder or draft some 4th string back up running that may not even suit up on Sundays.

As far as giving up keeper spots go it all gets down to choosing whether you keep that 1st round RB or take your chances in the draft as one of the few managers who retains his high picks. In that case, knowing you have a productive TE locked away already makes sense.

Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

Cooley is not utilized as a receiving TE as much, more of a blocker.
Not worth a keeper.

It wouldnt make much sense to trade for Cooley (10th) just so you can free up a 2nd rounder to re-draft someone already on your roster you could've originally kept instead at the cost of a 2nd rounder.

It makes more sense instead keeping a player who costs a 10th to keep but is worth a 2nd rounder, rather than keeping someone who costs a 10th but is only worth a 10th.

Only ones Id even go for would be....

Slaton and Bess.
Bush is iffy. Portis is iffy. Boldin is good but wheres he going?
Rivers is good but i wouldnt go for him. Scheffler is someone worth going for. That's it.

But really, youd be crazy not to keep Slaton (only costs you a 15th for a 1st round talent). Bess is a tricky one, only I probably would actually rate him. And Bush youd probably keep anyway. Portis meh. Boldin youd maybe keep. Rivers youd keep.

So imo you would do this...

Slaton, Rivers, Bush as keepers.....redraft Portis or trade him, redraft Boldin. Rest are redraftable or not bother with at all.

Re: BFFFL #1 - Part 3

A lot of talk considering Dspeed has said SFA :p

1st Round - LDT
2nd Round - Reggie Wayne
3rd Round - Terrell Owens

They were my keepers from last year... I dunno if they stay as those choices, or they move...

7th Round - Derrick Ward
8th Round - Kevin Boss

They are the only other players I drafted who I still have  Moved a lot around this year it seems.

Traded or FA players...

Warner - FA/Undrafted
Leinart - FA/Drafted round 7
Cadillac - FA/Round 16
Arrington - FA/Roung 15
Williams - Trade/Round 6
Young - FA/Round 16
Welker - Trade/Round 15
Hill - FA/Undrafted
Breaston - FA/Undrafted
D. Graham - FA/Undrafted
Titans - FA/Undrafted
Akers - FA/Undrafted

Bolded are Highly Likely keepers
Italics are Possible Keepers
Underlined are Trade Bait

I know a few of em are on peoples radars...

Hmmm I think that proves you don't need a great draft to do well :p Not that my late year slump was great or anything

Although its very easy for this, with the whole off season and all.......... So if you want in quick, I ain't chasing anyone.
