Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

Yeah, but that was before the league started, right?

Anyways, I am enjoying watching right now, with the hope of finding a way in at a later date :thumbsu:
we had got about 6 or 7 picks in and decided at that point to expand

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

Very intrigued to find out who this player danielz23 is talking about. I think I have one myself, just wonder if it is the same player.
I went to PM it to you Sammy... and then thought... NNAAAH

I love Sammy, but not that much. haha

speed, i'm realistic... Jamal and Jones and full time, full time starters, who with get 20-30 touches and all endzone opportunities. They arent going to break any records (sounds like that church ad with the sick girl swimming the in races) but they are VERY solid, proven over time, RBs.

Vick is a top 5 QB if he players, no doubt. He has been consistantly. Alex Smith isnt an ordinary backup option either.

Harrison is Harrison.

Moss is a great WR, lacked opportunity in Oakland, wont in New England if he keeps his act together.

...Calvin Johnson is pulling rave reviews on his catches and ability and will step into the no.2 WR role. In a Martz offense... and he is my 3rd WR!

L.J Smith... beyond Gates I cant split the TEs... yes that includes Gonzalez now. So whatever really.

and the rest is to be written.

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

You could make the league more than 16 teams even with the supposed lack of QB picks for back-up....how??

When you select your QB, you automatically acquire that team's depth chart of back-up QBs.

There's enough TE's and WRs, and RBs and Kickers and DST to go around 30 teams.

For instance, if one wanted to pick two TE's, one being a back-up for injury, there's plenty of them around as second-tier TEs for the same team or other teams. You'll just have to pick one is all.

While for QB, again, if I select McCown as my QB, I automatically acquire Russell/Walter as "ghost" reserves....as in, they aren't ACTUAL picks taken off me, they're ACQUIRED as part of that.

it is fine that that is what you think but there are just as many ??? over yours as there is mine, the elderly pension status of your RBs has many issues, can they hold up for a whole season etc, questions marks over whether moss gets angry which will inevitably happen

??? over every team but when it come to the end of the season we will know who was right, i am fairly confident i will be there in week 16, bu we'll see, i'll end it at that

Re: BigFooty Fantasy Football League

I cannot wait for the first dspeed v danielz matchup. It is going to be HUGE!! These 2 teams have locked horns (and I reckon will continue to) since the leagues formation, and I can only see the rivalry building and becoming more heated as we approach Round 1!!!

The TRASH talk in that week leading up will be flowing out of the rubbish bins at an alarming rate methinks!!

i think you missed the point a bit, byes would be the main issue, we dont want a situation where people are physically unable to put together a full team for any given week

End it... now now... I thought you had more in you. I take it as a win, haha.

Vince Young - Madden curse, unproven ;)

DeAngelo, might never eventuate leaving you with 1 back!

All I say is you have a HUGE dependence on your first three picks, and as has been said your draft has gone downhill from there.

I dare say you team gets rated as it does based on 3 players... and its unreal!! they could all be on the one team. You really didnt go on with it however. Everything else is lacking.

All the best :) I'm sure we will discuss again in a week.

Every team will have a bye in the early season rounds tho. It'll all be evened out for everyone. Currently, many people are not going to pick a 2nd TE, 2nd K, or 2nd DST. So when NFL teams have byes during the early part of the season, all of us will be fielding teams lacking positional players.

So what's a QB different? At least this way, you can get around the QB situation. You simply acquire the depth chart. If McCown gets injured/replaced, that's ok, I got Walter/Russell to fill in. Every week there's going to be positions vacant due to a bye week anyway.

I know FL usually run at 12 people. And I know you're the commish, but I'd love to see a few more people added in. There are some good guys here (as mentioned before) and i hate seeing people left out, is all.

Its too excessive g.g... simple as that

QB is different because 250yds 2 TDs... 1 Int... makes up a pretty large chunk of your weekly score... not comparable to any other position really. Maybe DST.

hurts to say, lol, but i agree with dan, 16 is the max, end of story, sure people are missing out but cant keep expanding it coz they are missing out, would end up with 1000 teams, lol

i feel i have gone on with it after the first three, just because you dont agree doesnt mean i drafted poorly, just because i dont rate your team doesnt mean it wont do well, all opinion based at this stage

lol, dont think so, week 17 is definitely a fantasy no go for fair dinkum playoff games, not sure how much fantasy experience everyone has but definitely cant play fantasy in week 17, anyway, we have the relaxed yet competitive BigFooty Fantasy League All Star Game that weekend! lol :D

I formally condone such an idea. Mdunn, go get 12-16 people and start a fantasy league asap, have them get thru their picks asap. Then we will have the mother of all Superbowls. The BFFL vs the BFUFL.

2 leagues is the only option, then expand to 24 teams (12 in each), or 32 (16 in each) if enough interest?

Promotion/relegation format? No keeper?

That's when my All-Star xxx-rated Lesbian gratutitious gif/jpg is unfurled. I might have to cop a Marcuz month suspension, but it will be worth it.

this is a keeper league, people having been drafting on that basis, cant change that now otherwise this whole exercise would have been a waste of time

if we wanted a divvy 1 and 2 style promotion/relegation comp based on seasonal leagues we could have it seperate to this league i suppose

I formally approve this idea!

Get 8 people including yourself Mdunn, and get your UFL happening. By next year we can have 12 v 12 leagues contesting. (16 + 8 = 24).
