Was a good day for finals footy at McPherson Park yesterday, think the league could consider a double header in future years with the quality of both grounds and facilities if you had a few sides from the East participating. Would imagine that would be elite atmosphere if could be managed, imagine if you had Melton vs Ballarat on one ground and Darley vs East Point on the other at the same time, great for supporters.

No matter where Darley finish, hats off to them for achieving what they have this year. From Sundays game… Johnson, Young, Lehuray, Cousins, Lalor, Van-leath. All younger than 21. With about another 6 or so 21-23 years old. Impressive young core, hopefully they can keep these blokes, gonna be very good for years to come if they do.

Well said, their resurgence this season has been impressive & that it was mostly done via internal development (coupled with a few quality recruits) is a good sign for the future.

East kicked bad, but for Darley to win with the best player in the league missing and the league leading goal kicker only kicking 1 is a good sign. Lots of good young players

What occurred??

Duncan Cadman was running to take a mark in the warm up. Ball was going over his head and he turned to go after it and cannoned into the back of the umpires head. Split the umpires head and looked like it knocked him out. Cadman had concussion and was replacement number four for the day. Never seen anything like it .

You can see it on the game vision.

And the one in the warm up was a clash of heads with the field umpire. Both never took the field.

Never miss a Darley finals game, something always happens. They done well considering they lost 2 key backs and a 2 time prem captain the day of the game

It should be a good contest on the weekend.
Melton will obviously be strong favourites in the GF but hopefully either Ballarat or Sebas can take it up to them.

BlueJet thought your boy stiff not to get starting ruckman, considering Burton missed 6 weeks.

Burton is a freak, no doubt but Cam could probably consider himself a bit stiff.
Unfortunately the weather doesn't look too good for the weekend but fingers crossed for a bit of luck.

Snrs : Melton over Sebas - B.Kight BOG
Ressies: Sunbury over Melton
19s: North over Ballarat

Ballarat appointing Chris Maple as coach is a great get for them.
